Seamaster Help
Hi All,Stepping away from the Rolex boards to make my first post here in Omega World. Simply, I'm trying to get some info on a watch I own.I was given this by my grandmother a year after my grandfather died. It was 1978 and I was 12 years-old. Since then it's spent most of its life in a safe deposit box. Now it's back on my wrist, and I've just been very curious to know what I've got here. It's got an 18K Gold stamp between the lugs, and that's about it. It hasn't been opened, so I'm afraid I can't get the serial number. But, knowing what year and any other details would be helpful. Also, I need to fill out my home owners insurance items, so an appraisal (even ballpark) would be great. Thanks so much, guys!
Friday Wristcheck
Its friday.. (or saturday for our kiwi fossil JJ ) so whats on your wrist? for me it is my omega suveran.. wearin g the one on the left
which 5726 AC
so i've seriously been infected with the PP virus and would like to acquire a 5726 to complement my recently acquired 5711 blue. the only question remains is which version of the 5726 to get! would really appreciate some arguments for any of those options... the following is what i'm thinking... 1. grey dial on strap. it would be quite different from 5711 because it's on a strap and i don't own any other strap watches. like the dial color as well. strap may give it a different feel. 2. grey dial on bracelet. my favorite of the 3 independent of all other considerations, but afraid it may be too close to the 5711 as they're both dark dial with bracelet.3. white dial on bracelet. very different from the 5711 and has a super clean feel to it. definitely would fulfill a more sporty role than the 5711.
16753
Hi everyone .. As many of you know, I am a huge fan of the Rolex Datejust and know an awful lot about them since I own so many of them in different configurations. That being said, I know very little about the Rolex GMT Master, and I am hoping a GMT expert can help me out. I have the chance to buy a 16753 GMT Master which is all original right down to the factory nipple dial. Being that I don't know much about this watch, and being that I am able to find very little information about this reference, I was wondering if someone with knowledge could weigh in on whether or not buying a 16753 would be a better choice over buying a 16713. I want to add a vintage two tone GMT to my Rolex collection, but knowing very little about the GMT scares me a bit because I don't want to make a mistake and buy something that could be problematic in the future as far as service goes. I'm also curious if this is a watch that could increase in value over time. I will be greatful to anyone with and understa
