Ploprof 600 DIY cleaning
So...My ploprof bezel started to be a bit stiff, so I decided I have to be brave and pop the bezel off and give it a bit of a clean. My plan is to make this watch (all original watch) an active dive watch, which means I have to replace the crystal and crown gaskets at some point. I might replace them myself, as it would be a nice little project, and then have it tested for water proofness. So today I popped the bezel. And it was DIRTY under there. And I also found something interesting...So here we go...Some masking tape, and a small Victorinox pocket knife where my tools.Bezel came off really easily.Bezel popped off. I started to insert the blade between the case and bezel, and push inwards, no twisting at all, and it literally said pop. Then I slowly started moving the blade around the bezel, gently twisting the bezel free from the case.As you can see, there was some 10 years worth of dirt.Backside of the bezel, very dirty too...A good q-tip dry slightly moist (since I'm not sure it's
5130 dials
Hi all,Lately I am having a worldtimer obsession. Browsing a lot, trying to find something unique (if I can use this word in this context) however not breaking my bank account. To the point - I found 5130 R with two different dial versions as below: one on the right is from official Patek website.5130 r dubai.jpg1. As I understand it is not a Dubai limited edition (on the left), just a different dial version for different continents perhaps?Could somebody elaborate it as I was not able to find a lot of explanation on the web. I know there are limitations like green dial Mecca (which is as well printed in green) or Jerusalem, however this one doesn't look this way.2. The pic below - Istanbul -seems like a limited one. If it is - does anyone know how many were produced, is there really any exclusivity/collectibility going with it?istanbul.jpg3. Which worldtimer (please exclude 5131's, and all pieces with sky high prices, I mean regulars but also 5110's) would you pick as a rarest, most un
Panerai on American shark....Great strap, good look, and extremely comfortable.
Just wanted to share another strap review. This is a Genuine American Shark strap purchase through Panatime. They say they only have a limited number of this strap. It 24-22mm is extremely comfortable and soft on your skin. It is suppose to be very durable and the texture on the outside is shak textured. Stitching matches face font, very cool looking. So far it is my most comfortable strap.
