Hamilton for 2009: BASE Jumping, Diving, and More
Some say the trend toward ever-larger watches is slowing, but you would not know it to look at Hamilton's new 50mm Khaki BASE Jump watches. That's BASE as in parachuting off of Buildings, Antennas, Spans and Earth. Available in automatic and chronograph versions, we will focus on the latter as it presents an interesting twist (pun intended): the timing functions are activated by turning the bezel, not by pushing buttons. Twist the bezel counter-clockwise to start and stop, then clockwise to reset. The BASE Jump is powered by a modified version of ETA's 7750 movement, and we're told that the movement is exclusive to Hamilton. The BASE Jump sports a sapphire crystal and 100 meter water resistance. The chronograph is available in titanium or black or bronze PVD with a black or bronze dial on a black rubber or brown leather strap. All models are priced at $1945. Maybe not for me...
I took out my 15300 out of the bank today, I am going to Zurich tomorrow and was planning on leaving it to my AD to make the service, it's unworn but sitting in safes since 2009, made the oils dry up and it needs a service.But I have been looking at it and feeling it for one hour now, and can't explain why but I am a little underwhelmed, I thought it was perfect as my 3 PP are ultra thin, and my AP diver extra thick, to have something a little thicker, I don't know why but I am not impatient to be able to wear it, to be honest it's not that I don't like it, but can't say it does something to me.When I saw the Jumbo I really found it awesome, while the 15400 didn't touch me in the slightest.I think I won't do the service, will leave it untouched in the safe, and probably sell it to finance a piece later on that I really want, for now there is nothing on my radar, well there are watches I love, but way to expensive for'me at the moment.I need to see the Jumbo again, if I really love it a

The Speedmasters that have failed the water test.
I hear everyone that everyone wishes and thinks the Speedmaster Pro fails when it comes to water.Post your water failed Speedmaster here. I don't think it exists in a large scale.My Speedmaster has never ever failed at water resistence. Pools, swiming, diving, and whatever. I believe the Speedmaster is underated in being waterproof. NASA asks a lot and will not give less than perfection.The BS stops now. Who's Speedmaster has not proven to be waterproof? 30M, 50M I don't care. It does and has not leaked unless it hasn't been serviced since 1969.
