Giveaway: Bathys Benthic Ti Watch
OK, I have to admit I am jealous - I want one of these. One of you will get to win this fantastic Hawaii-based Bathys Benthic Ti watch this month. It might be cold outside, but you can dream about an island paradise. 48mm wide and in titanium, this large men's watch isn't going to be too heavy, and features Bathys' iconic sport suave styling that says, "I know how to look good when relaxing or having fun." A dive watch at heart, the Benthic Ti has a domed sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 200 meters. Of course it has a rotating diver's bezel and SuperLumiNova covered hands and hour indicators. Inside the watch is a Swiss Ronda quartz movement with a retrograde day of the week indicator along with a big-date indicator. The dial is super easy to read, but has a laid-back calmness to it that is in line with the timepiece's Hawaiian origins. The Bathys Benthic Ti comes on a black (waterproof) leather strap with red contrast stitching and also includes a rubber diving strap. Like al
Where??
Where can I find NATO straps for guys with Xl wrist? It's a pain to find them unfortunately. I have Aaron at Combat Straps making me a nice leather but looking for something to rotate. Input please!!
Omega and Baltusrol PGA Championship
image.jpgHad a great time watching golf Sunday. Some rain but not too bad. Wore my speedy on a green perlon. Visited the Omega tent and was greated by a very knowledgable watch maker in the Nashville Boutique. Was given this freebie awesome hat. So at the end of the tournament I walked up the fairway and showed it off ;) Got yelled at when I tried my luck on the next fairway heading towards the shuttle :( Anyways thought I would share some photos.
Nautilus 5711P
Yes, it does exist I can share you this information which I got from 3 different people ( being my AD and 2 people who work for Patek. The 5711P is not a piece unique They made a very small numer of them, one source about 10 , another said 15. They were made only for the Patek salons .... BUT they will be made for the regular dealers too. The number will be very limited. It is not a limited edition but know that they won't or can't make a few hundred of them per year, probably a few dozen per year. The price is CHF 85K or almost the same as a 5960P which has an anual calendar + chrono. So the 5711P is a super nice and discrete watch but if you can get a 5960P for almost the same price ... not an easy choice anymore. Do you want to pay for rarity or do you prefer to get complications for that price ?
A few (better) shots of my 3970P silver dial
Proud to share some better shots of my new baby! The 3970 is a classic Patek piece that was produced from 1986 to 2004, and with its case size of 36mm I felt like it was perfect for my 6.25 wrist. In fact, I think it's so perfect for me that, well, I already have one in yellow gold (see this thread: .rolexforums/showthread.php?t=281994).Still, I tend to buy in twos just because I have this fantasy that I'll be leaving behind my watches as heirlooms to my two daughters. What should follow a 3970J? Well, I decided that it should, very fittingly, be a 3970 in platinum. Pic 1: It came very nicely sealed, freshly serviced by Patek USA.Pic 2: Very quickly unsealed, I made sure it was nestled quite comfortably and perfectly in its box.Pic 3: What about a close-up of that incredibly legible, perfectly proportioned silver dial? The 3970P usually came with a black dial with diamond markers; it's much more rare to find a 3970P born with a silver dial, and I was fortunate to find one with com
