Thomas Prescher Nemo Sub I Watch Is Steampunk Submersible
Late night e-mails from German-born Swiss watchmaker Thomas Prescher are always interesting. This is the man who has brought us the first triple axis-tourbillon and who really epitomizes the concept of independent watchmaker. Always inspired, the newest watch by Mr. Prescher is his most impressive and ambitious project yet. Called the Nemo Sub I, this is perhaps the most interesting new watch of 2014, and is likely to stay that way.What you see is a mostly sapphire crystal case that is meant to look like a steampunk submarine dreamed out of the work of early science fiction writer Jules Verne. Need your opinions on this sale guys
Not exactly rolex related, but if this sale goes through, the proceeds will be intended for my Grail WG sub. Bought the AP ROC black dial brand new in Sept 2014 for SGD 23,750. That's about USD 17,929 by today's exchange rate. It's a beautiful piece, but I realised I haven been wearing much in comparison to my blnr and lvc. Blnr gets most wrist time.Have an offer from a potential buyer at SGD 20,500 which is about USD15,476. And I'll prob either top up for the balance for the WG sub, or sell the LVC for a 2 or 3 rolex collection. Is this depreciation on the AP acceptable considering that the condition is still mint? Or shd I wait out for a better offer? Can't trade this at the dealers cos their price is even lower. Thanks guys

Dial color: 5711 vs 5712
I was able to try on a ss 5712 at my AD today, and was a bit surprised by the dial color. To me, it looked more like slate grey than the blue I had remembered from trying on a 5711 some time back. On patek's website, both the 5711 and 5712 are listed as black-blue dials, but is it possible they are different? Maybe just the dial layout make the shades appear different? Maybe the lighting in the shop (I've never tried on a 5711 and 5712 in the same location)?
