The Omega enthusiast may know that after production ended on the Seamaster 300 in 1970, Omega’s lineup of diving watches changed dramatically. Gone were the bombe lugs and family resemblance to the Speedmaster. In it’s place, there were a bunch of chunky, colorful divers. Tiffany 5712?
Need some advice �� interested in the 5712 as my next watch, and am considering the Tiffany stamp to further insulate value. Is this a good/plausible idea? Just called Tiffany NYC, but I don't have a relationship with them, was quoted 5-7 year waitlist, and that they were unwilling to add my name. I don't mind paying retail if it holds the value well, and would like to get your thoughts if this makes sense or if I should just do the regular 5712 since that is hard enough to get (not to mention with the 2018 price increase). ETA 6497 vs P.3000
Well, it's only a matter of time before the venerable 6497 is retired and replaced by the P.3000 in-house movement (or something like it). It's still too early to tell what impact it'll have on the desirability of the old 6497 based watches but would you still want an old 6497 driven PAM vs a newer model?

Last week I got a 214270 Explorer and love it. After going through many watches, including the MKI short hand version, I feel I have finally landed on the watch that best suits me. I sold a few others and have always loved 36mm Datejusts, but never had the right one for me. I found a nice one, a silver tuxedo 116200 at Authenticwatches. They list many watches that they don't have but I thought they can come through on those indicated as in stock. I made the purchase. I called to double confirm. They specify overnight shipping. Today I am wondering where the tracking number is, and I call them; they put me on hold and say there was a mixup, the watch had just been sold before I ordered it, and they were hoping to get another one tomorrow. I cancelled, doubt they'll be able to do that.I was upset. But in the end, I think they did me a favor.
