Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon
At SIHH last week Cartier launched the new Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon with their new manual winding movement, Caliber 9451 MC, designed and created by Cartier watchmakers. This unusual movement is the product of 5 years of development at the Cartier Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Astrotourbillon’s carriage is driven by the third wheel of the gear train. The pinion of the escape wheel rotates around a fixed seconds-wheel (the fourth wheel of the gear train) in order to drive the escapement. The carriage has a special rotational axis, as it is positioned at the center of the movement. This requires a different gear-train design, from the two barrels of the movement through to the display of the minutes and hours. We got together with Zenith right here in downtown Manhattan at the Manhattan Classic Car Club, which makes a wide range of vintage and exotic sports cars available to members (you know, in case you don't happen to have $11 million to spare for your own GT40 – or as is more likely, if you just like variety). 1 OF 9 It's a big year for Zenith in terms of automotive partnerships; HODINKEE's European Editor Arthur Touchot interviewed Zenith CEO Aldo Magada earlier this year at the Royal Automobile Club, on the occasion of the presentation to the press of the El Primero Chronomaster Hero Cup. We'll be hearing more from Zenith about their partnership with the SVRA, which is now in its 38th racing season and in 2016, plans a total of 16 events that will involve, the organization says, ove
Beware, 'The Beast' on C24
I have been looking on c24 for a AP ROO 'the Beast' ie with the original blue dial...Saw this at a good price, looked nice at first glance on the mobile -then I spotted it, can you?.chrono24.se/audemarspigue...-id4155377.htmWatch itself might be kosher but when you put an AP back like that you are not an official AP watchmaker....
Had the privilege to flirt...
Today at my AD. Interesting piece.
New Colt
Well now that I have my formal wear for elegance and special events (though it will get a lot of wrist time) watch (Rado Sintra) I am aiming for this new Breitling Colt as my everyday watch. I simply love it, I might sell my Rolex GMT Master II for this. Most definitely my next watch..breitling/en/index.ph...10/colt-gmt+-/
