Rebellion 540 Magnum Tourbillon Watch: Pedal-To-The-Metal Horology
When it comes to cars and watches, there's a definite link. For some brands (be it car or watch) that linkage can be a bit more tenuous, and may consist of a logo swap. For the folks over at Rebellion?though, they're taking it to a whole different level. For starters, they've actually got a racing team - one that raced in the Le Mans Series Championship (2011) and FIA World Endurance Trophy for Privateers (2012). This means they're used to creating high-end, precision, lightweight components for their cars. From what I can see of their latest watch, it seems their horology follows in the same footsteps.The 540 Magnum Tourbillon makes liberal use of materials commonly found in race cars: magnesium; aluminum; titanium; and carbon fiber. Surprisingly, these materials show up in the movement. The mainplate is made of aluminum, while the 3/4 back plate is made from carbon fiber. Guys,Ive owned my Speedmaster Pro Moon Watch for 10 yrs. I recently read an article in a old Watch Time magazine comparing it to the new co-axial SM. I was surprised to see they scored the accuracy rates very low for the SMP. I understand the 1861 isn't CSOC. Have the rates for the 1861 always been this way? Just curious. It shares wrist time with my 16750. Both watches are great time pieces IMHO.

Realise that my 5711 (white) is not the most loved in my collection as I have been considering various trades. None have come live as realise it's rather special after all and it gets a fair share of wrist time and trading a patek for a diffrent brand feels wrong. But having a 5712 as well I would something a bit diffrent. I have the opportunity to trade against a 5711r but need to add aprox usd 8000 in between.
