Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends October 25, 2013
As October comes to a close, we check out new watches from Girard Perregaux, Harry Winston, Panerai and Nomos; find out what is revered watchmaker Francois-Paul Journe's grail watch; learn more about Seiko; and talk to J.J. Redick of the L.A. Clippers about watch collecting.1. My First Grail Watch: Francois-Paul JourneIndependent watchmakers are a truly a special breed. And amongst them, Francois-Paul Journe is perhaps the one I admire most. Not only are his watches technically complex, but he has managed to give his watches a certain design language that is distinctly his own. Find out what was his first grail watch in our article.Source: watches-dealer2. Girard-Perregaux 1966 Ultra-Thin 41mm Watch ReviewIf you are looking to add a classic dress watch to your collection, the Girard-Perregaux's 1966 Ultra-thin 41mm should not be overlooked. It features a nice uncluttered dial, classic timeless kind of design, and Girard-Perregaux's in-house caliber GP01800-0004. The 41mm case diameter
15400 vs SubC Date Size?
Question to those who own both.....how does the 15400 compare in actual 'wearable' size to the ceramic Submariner date? I know the SubC is 40mm, and the 15400 is 41mm, but I would think the Sub wears/looks larger due to the bezel and extended lugs? Any help would be great (and pictures even better)!
What are you drinking with your AP on?
I don't think there's one on this sub-forum. Thought I'd borrow the idea from the Rolex forum...

Hi guys...Sharing my joy with you all again...As most of you know that last month I bought my self a diver which I ended up passing on to my friend in Colombo on our GTG... Well my dealer just called my today to let me know that my baby had arrived ahead of schedule... so I went and picked it up without delay...So here it is back on my wrist... I just love this watch... can't wait to add the SS bracelet to it!Thanks for looking...Cheers!By the way... I wore my LV when I went to pick up my AP... It was a beautiful and sunny day in HK today... just had to wear my LV...
Flipping a Patek for a Lange and....
I never thought I'd sell my 5205G. But looking back over the last two years I've been wearing it less and less, perhaps less than any other dress watch. It's undoubtedly a beautiful watch but maybe it's elegance and the shape of the case pushes me off. I intended to keep it anyways and maybe in the winter time I'd find myself wearing it more often as I think it suits darker clothing better than light summer styles. So while I've been waiting for the PT Datograph to arrive I just tried on the Grand Lange 1 in WG black dial and am really smitten. I didn't expect to like the black dial but pictures really don't do the watch justice. It just sparkles in the light, it almost feels like there is no sapphire on the case. It has a the Lange 1 casual elegance which I really dig. Just feels right on the wrist which I didn't feel with the 5205. So I'm able to flip my 5205G for the Lange and as added extra a Pam 372 or 424 too. Am I being too impulsive and should I give the 5205 some mor
