Watch Insider: Introducing TAG Heuer’s New In-House Movement, Caliber 1969
TAG Heuer’s new integrated mechanical chronograph movement, Caliber 1969, is now being produced at the recently finished fourth TAG Heuer factory, in Chevenez in the Swiss Jura. I take you inside the brand-new facility, and examine the details of the new in-house movement, in this article from my blog, Watch-Insider.In 2009, TAG Heuer launched Caliber 1887, based as you may know by now on an old Seiko chronograph movement (and made its debut in the TAG Heuer Carrera 1887; click here for WatchTime’s test of that watch). It had been partially re-engineered by TAG Heuer and then produced by TAG in Switzerland. The integrated, self-winding, column-wheel chronograph movement is outfitted with a contemporary version of the brand's 1887-patented oscillating pinion. TAG Heuer invested 20 million Swiss Francs to produce it in the volume that the company’s accelerating growth required, and an entire dedicated workshop had to be constructed at TAG Heuer's facilities in La Ch
Montblanc TimeWalker TwinFly Chronograph GreyTech
At SIHH Montblanc unveiled the limited edition TimeWalker TwinFly Chronograph GreyTech. The manufacture movement positions both the chronograph seconds and minute hands in the center of the dial to improve the 60-minute totalizer’s legibility. When the flyback function is activated, both hands race back to their starting position and instantly start measuring another interval, giving rise to the TwinFly name. Find the launch date, pricing and wallpaper images inside. The dial offers an array of textures and levels along with seven time displays. Working from the outside in, the elapsed chronograph seconds are displayed along the outermost periphery. Just inside of the seconds, the highly-legible hour track in anthracite surrounds circular apertures that reveal the date disk beneath. The current date is displayed in a white-framed window at 9 o'clock. White scales are printed for the 24-hour second time zone indicator at 12 o'clock, and for the small seconds at 6 o'clock. The in
Future Diving With N.O.A; The 4.80 Scyllis Dive Watch
Yes, this is undeniably a nice watch, with a futurism industrial twist. It most reminds me of the style seen on mid 1990s nautical-themed science fiction TV show, "Sea Quest." Notice the "techy" font used for the numbers and the rounded edges combined with sleek ridged rubber and you will know what I am talking about. Diving watches are probably the most popular segment of watches because they combine a legible style, good looks, and rugged endurance. Easily my favorite, I could outfit my entire collection with diving watches and be perfectly happy.N.O.A is an interesting watch maker stealing the stoplight with its unique designs that combine fluid organic lines, futuristic looks, and practical features. The name actually stands for "None Of the Above." The 4.80 Scyllis is easily my favorite watch from the maker, and it is their first attempt at a dive watch! We can thank N.O.A for the Scyllis name which means "sailor" and is more than a combination of the typical marine terms that com
Opinions on the Montbrilliant Moon phase line please
Hi, I was looking at the Montbrilliant lineup with Moonphase that was discontinued in 2010. Any idea how good/reliable the movement it uses is (think is Breitling 19) since have seen some complaining about it being expensive to service. I read it uses a modified ETA movement so that means is not an inhouse Breitling mechanical movement right? I thought Brietling had started manufacturing their own movements in early 2000 through a Swiss factory they setup. Also saw a place mentioning the watch having water resistant problems although is marked as 30m water resistant, could anyone throw some light on that?Lastly any wrist shots would be much appreciated,Thanks

What do you guys think of these slimmer pams? I really like the black dial with green lume on asso.
