Watch Winner Review: Traser Red Combat
The February 2014 watches-dealer giveaway was for a Traser H3 Red Combat watch. Our fortunate winner was Gary F. in England and he has followed-up with some images and thoughts about his pretty cool new Red Combat tritium-lumed timepiece:? As I took this watch out of the box my wife expressed that It looks like something Action Man (GI Joe in the US) would wear. I suppose that, in it's own right, justifies the name of this watch. At first glance the watch looks a bit like a toy, as it has a resin body, although on careful inspection there is an internal body that looks to be an alloy, the bezel is a PVD coated steel and the watch glass is sapphire, so the build should be pretty robust. This is further evidenced by the fact that the watch is capable of a 200m (660 ft) water resistance, so it could be used for diving. It's also quite big, measuring up at 45mm diameter, and is 11mm deep, but the weight has been kept low at 94 grammes, particularly helped by the NATO strap. I have quite a
Baume & Mercier Capeland Watches For 2011
The first time that I wrote about Baume & Mercier's new for 2011 Capeland collection watches I was a bit irritated. The reason for that sentiment was the revival of the Capeland name in a thoroughly retro collection, whereas the original Capeland watches from about a decade or so ago were much more modern. In fact, these heritage style timepieces are modeled after watches from the late 1940s, not the late 1990s. I still feel a tender sense of nostalgia toward the original collection and would have preferred that Baume & Mercier use a different name for these watches but, aside from than that, I am stricken by the appeal of these new Capelands.Baume & Mercier will initially offer seven variations of this model. I am sure you can find them available already. The historic look of the watches is cleverly done with two different dial styles. One is a bit more classic with pomme hands and a snailed tachymeter scale. The other is a bit more to my taste with more mid-century-style?

Panerai 587 Sale?
I don't know if it's of interest to anyone but in my search for a 587 I found one at Jomashop of all places!Spoke to them this morning and they have it in stock for immediate overnight shipping. Downside is it won't have the certificates book.Upside a scarcely believable $7795!!!!!I eventually bought from Jacek as I prefer a full set and supporting TRF sellers.Would be curious to know how they came by it as I thought they were all presold before they were even in ADs.
PCL's - If you're OCD, might not be the route to go.
Well, it's been one week to the day that I purchased both a TT Submariner along with a DateJust for my wife. My watch, the oyster bracelet. Hers, the jubilee. By comparison, hers looks amazing. Mine, meh. Don't get me wrong, it's still beautiful/gorgeous, etc. etc. But those PCL's pick up more scratches than a flea bitten dog on a lazy summer's day. I mean one could sneeze on this bracelet and it'll show a micro scratch marking. lol. I know I know, no big thing as they can all be polished to brand new upon servicing. Regardless, if you're one who is crazy OCD about scratches, might want to rethink PCL's. I know I was looking at getting a GMT Master II this week but the PCL's on that one are making me rethink the whole deal. Anyone else see this or am I just spending far too much time looking at the bracelet and then going, What the hell!? How'd it pick up a scratch just resting on the nightstand!????: Oh, and no worries here. I'm totally wearing it like nobody's business. I buy them to
