Hands-On: With The New F.P. Journe Octa Sport And Centigraphe Sport In Titanium (Live Pics, Full Spe
When F.P. Journe unveiled his Octa Sports line of watches back in 2011, we (the royal watch collecting "we") could simply not believe how light they were. After all, the F.P. Journe "lineSport" pieces, being the Octa Sport and the Centrigraphe (CTS), were made entirely of aluminum. Yes, aluminum! They were so light, they almost felt fake (seriously). They were not fake, they were just absurdly light, and absurdly cool. In fact, the very first aluminum CTS sold at Christie's for over $467,000. Yeah. That cool. But, all things must evolve, and today we have a look at the new line of sports pieces from Journe C the very same models, but instead of the incredibly lightweight aluminum, they are now in titanium. 2 OF 18 The switch from aluminum to titanium was indeed a structural move. The soft qualities of aluminum posed some difficulties and Mr. Journe felt a completely titanium watch would still provide the incredible lightness the lineSport lovers were used to, without any
Couple wrist shots 3572.50 on orange NATO
Its been a while since I wore my speedy as I have been bitten by the Rolex bug as of late. I have sold pretty much all my watches to save up for a vintage rolex but just refused to ever let this one go. I usually wear it on black leather with an omega deployment or SS bracelet but just swapped to an orange NATO for fun. I like it, enjoy.
Trade a SkyDweller for Patek 5726 White Dial?
Let's assume the numbers are all in line, which they are. I don't necessarily want to pay cash for this watch but I'm being offered it and if I do it it's going to be in trade toward something I own.Pros:1. The White dial is close to my Wife's 7018 so we'll nearly have matching Nautiluses. (Hers is a little more silvery and doesn't have an AC or moonphase)2. I like the white dial, A LOT.3. It's another Patek. Cons:1. Give up my Rose Gold SkyDweller for it? This is a very heavy watch that doesn't get as much use as my RG Daytona. But it's also precious metal as opposed to the 5726 stainless steel. Also has an annual calendar which for a Rolex is a big deal.2. I already own a 5726, Black Dial with Tiffany stamp on strap that I CANNOT let go of. Is it crazy to own two identical models just with different dials and strap/bracelet combos?
Rolex daytona 116515LN rose gold on leather or OF
Going to pull the trigger on this soon. With choc dialI know the new one is on OF but i really love the style if the older leather strap model...i just think it gives the watch more class and elegance than the OF not to mention sexier as dont think rubber amd rose gold go well on this watch like on AP's as such...What do u all think...??And any wristshots of your rose gold on strap daytonas with choc dial would be great!
Daytona back from RSC!
I just got my beloved SS Daytona 116520 back from RSC. It took about 4 weeks and cost $1,000 to Rolex and $122 to my AD for shipping/ insurance. My AD in ATL (Brown & Co.) sent it to the RSC in Pennsylvania, where they say they consistently get the best service and turn-around time.It had the usual scratches and wear and tear, and the Chrono feature had stopped working reliably. It required no new parts other than the ones they ALWAYS replace: mainspring and gaskets. Looks absolutely brand new, I couldn't be happier! It came back with all the following:-Green Rolex velvet snap pouch-2 year Rolex warrantee card and letter-Letter of replacement value from Rolex, which states it would be replaced with the Ceramic bezel version, good for insurance-White Rolex microfiber cleaning cloth-Booklet on worldwide Rolex service-Form to include for next serviceReally first class!JCATT
