Affordable Vintage: the Exactus Squale
It's no small secret that the dive watches of the mid twentieth century held a certain charm that got lost or blurred over the years. Whether a 60's Sub, a O&W Caribbean 1000 or one of the various EPSA super-compressors, they just had personality and style to spare. Thanks to the guys over at Theo and Harris, today we're going to take a quick look at a watch that, despite being a bit of an odd ball, also exhibits these same qualities; the Exactus Squale. To startwho or what's an Exactus? Well, that's a good question without a good answer. Searching will reveal very little about the brand other than that their name has appeared on dials of all varieties from generic dress watches to EPSA super-compressors. According to an old print ad that sold on Ebay, the brand's full name was Montres Exactus SA, and they were based in Neuchatel, Switzerland. It would appear, like many other brands of the era, they were contracting out ready-made designs and rebranding them. That brings us to the w
First AP!!
Been looking at AP for years but could not grow that lust as much as I have for a PP. Only one I like is the RO chrono but that does not have their in house movement. Finally found a model I like, unfortunately it is not for guys. So when I have the option of buying my wife a new bag or a watch for her bday/wedding anniversary I quickly grasp the opportunity. Found a NOS model at a distance but worth the travel me thinks. Still not AP in house movement but beautiful regardless and thought I would share it with you guys.
Trade
Should I trade my 5711 Blue and my rose gold DD40 Green dial for a white dial 5980/1A plus cash my way?I've had the 5711 since new for a year and a half and it's only been worn a handful of times due to it feeling very delicate compared to my Rolex and AP. The gold DD40 does get worn but I'm not sure that gold suits me or my lifestyle.
Its real simple... Tudor is the new Rolex
Friends, waitlists, price increases, scarcity, etc. Rolex is going upmarket. Exclusivity. Sell less units at higher prices. Same profit. Rolex=Patek Eventually. Tudor is the brand that people will aspire to own. Rolex if you’re wealthy. This is the strategy. It’s the reason you have a Tudor Pepsi and a Rolex Pepsi both with in house movements, 70 hour power reserves. There is no way management would allow such in house scalping if this wasn’t to move both brands up market with Tudor replacing Rolex for the aspirational middle class. It’s clever yet obvious and slightly cynical but it’s happening.
Everose and skin tone
Hello everyone. I was wondering what would be the best skin tone for the Everose GMT.
