Jennifer Hudson and Gucci Introduce New Grammy Museum Watch at L.A. Event
On February 11, on the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards, Gucci Timepieces presented the third in its limited-edition Grammy collection of limited-production watches at a special event at the Grammy museum in Los Angeles �� an event that also featured a live performance by Oscar and Grammy winner (and Gucci fan) Jennifer Hudson.The watch, called the I-Gucci Museum Timepiece, joins its predecessors, the I-Gucci Grammy in yellow-gold PVD and the I-Gucci Latin Grammy in rose-gold PVD, all of which were designed by Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini. The new model has a large, 49-mm case in polished gray PVD, with the inscription GRAMMY Museum Gucci Limited Edition on the bezel and the Grammy Museum logo on the caseback. It has a Swiss quartz movement that offers a range of functions, including a digital time and dual-time-zone display (with an analog display option also available for the local time), a chronograph, countdown timer, tachymeter, pedometer and regatta timer for sailing. Awesome Ernst Benz Chronoflite GMT Watch
This was easily one of my favorite watches of JCK Las Vegas and my current favorite Ernst Benz watch. I consider this to sort of be a Rolex Explorer II on steroids, the 47mm wide steel case size might have a bit to do with that. Of course the style is similar to the Explorer II as well, just look at the GMT hand and the 24 hour bezel. Ernst Benz probably doesn't like all the comparisons to the Rolex, but most of you will easily see that. Then Ernst Benz starts with its own style. They indicate that the watch is meant to be retro inspired, which is part of the style of the finish of the bi-directional rotating bezel. Actually, the bezel is not my favorite part of the watch, though I would easily live with it. I like how the numbers are engraved into the bezel and darkened, but I would have done the polish on the metal a bit differently - minor point though.The beauty of the watch is in the large textured dial and very easy to read face. Going to pick up my first Panerai this week!
I have had a 111 on my radar for years now and I am going to the store here in NYC to do a little shopping this week.I'm 99 percent sure I am going to go with the 111 but wanted to get some thoughts on some other models to try on while I'm there.I really like the dials that fall on the simpler side but if there are things like better movement inside etc I don't mind spending a little more.Thanks so much for your thoughts!
