Carl F. Bucherer Wins Award for Best Advertising Campaign
Readers of the Swiss watch magazine Montres Passion and online voters worldwide have selected Carl F. Bucherer as the winner of the 2010 Prix du public de la Campagne Horlog��re 2010 (award for the best watch campaign 2010, elected via public voting) with its Patravi EvoTec DayDate visual for the new advertising campaign Ahead of the times . The Bucherer visual was selected from more than 100 applicants. Below are examples of the winning visual, and the award itself.

SIHH 2013, You Control The Watch Coverage
In about a week I will be on the ground in Geneva covering the 2013 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH). Read this post fully because the important stuff is at the end. This will be our 4th SIHH show, but our week in Geneva doesn't stop there. In addition to the SIHH we will be at the Geneva Time Exhibition (GTE), and meet with a number of other brands who will be presenting in the area. SIHH sounds hectic but in reality it is much more relaxed than the ten plus days you can spend in Basel at Baselworld madly meeting with as many brands as possible.Seeing that many watches can be overwhelming - even for us. Bremont Supermarine Watch Now More Super With The S2000
The biggest "cultural" difference between the Bremont Supermarine 500 and the Supermarine 2000 (aka S2000 - no, not like the Honda) is the little text at the bottom of the dial. The Supermarine replaces the old "Swiss Made" with simply "London." Does that mean the S2000 is not Swiss made? No. Instead, it shows that Bremont has come a long way in its ongoing journey to be a serious British luxury brand. It wants people to know that it is English through and through, and will eventually lead to movements made in the UK as opposed to Switzerland.The Supermarine 500 remains my favorite Bremont watch to-date. AD predictions
I spoke to the AD I had used to buy my SubC ND earlier this year about possibly getting on a waiting list for the BLNR.He stated that it was suggested to them that the BLNR was discontinued and that a new GMT would be announced at Basel next week. He said if that turned out to be false, he would contact me after the conference.We talked a few minutes about the current state of SS professional watches, and he felt the Subs would remain difficult to get, and suggested that the following were watches he believed he would be able to get going forward on a reliable basis:Air King, Explorer 1 and 2, Deep Sea and Black Bezel GMT.He didn't want to overstate availability of Subs with and without date, he believed they would not stop production of them in SS, but supplies would be very limited.We will see next week I guess.
