HourTime Show Podcast Episode 4 - Tourbillons, Dos/Donts, Holiday Shopping + a Contest!
Episode 4 of the quickly growing HourTime watch chat podcast show is up. This time we talk about why all the fuss with tourbillon watches, dos and don'ts with watch wearing, and the beginning of our holiday watch buying tips.We start out with learning about what tourbillons are, what they do, why they exist, then why they were "forgotten" for years and years and their sudden comeback. Then we get into why wear a watch at all - not the same as checking the time on your cell phone. Wearing a watch on the underside of your wrist is a topic. Next, fake watches, don't get us started! Wearing your watch at the gym? Then, we talk about the watch industry and watch news (where do you get your watch news). The Holidays are coming up, so where should you go to buy your watches for gifts? We share some tips on what to look for when buying online. Also, HourTimeShowwatches-dealer is giving away a free Automatic Chrono Swatch Watch. Sapphire case back = blasphemy?
Is it possible to install a clear case back on an ap that doesn't come with one from the factory? I'd like to see the movement, love the finishing. Clearly I would keep the original back just in case. Or.... Would I be crucified before I could get it installed?
Been too long since my last ... INCOMING!!!!
I was thinking Daytona as my next acquisition but haven't even been able to see / try on a Daytona in the flesh, let alone purchase at MSRP.... But I did have the (surprise) opportunity to grab something else I liked, at retail, that I didn't think I'd be able to get either..... Whaddya think is in the Jersey Rock's Box?
My Constellation has a weak lume, any suggestion??
Here is a picture of my aging but still reliable (other than the lume) constellation:When it is FULL charged it is fine.....but I find at night (even it still glow, it is really blurry, you can hardly see or cant even tell the time). Do I need to send it for a service?? Should go with the OMEGA service? or other watchmakers? How much do you think OMEGA will cost? Does OMEGA also polish the watch like ROLEX service?
Another "Help Me Understand Pam" thread....
I look at Panerai pictures on the web and they all look basically the same but I know they're not and there are no retailers anywhere near where I live so if someone could explain in plain English the differences between Luminor, Radiomir, 1950, etc. it would be really helpful. I think the Panerai Luminor 1950 Flyback Chrono PAM 212 is a work of art but am totally hesitant to pull the trigger because I'm unsure of its size and their site reveals very little to the uninitiated buyer.
