Kamawatch 'Hypercolor' Fashion Timepieces Change Color With Temperature
Okay, so this is fun. Do you remember those color changing shirts from the 1980s? Now they have watch versions of that by Kamawatch. I know that the watch industry is slow to respond, but did it really require 30 years for this relatively basic chromatic pigment technology to find its way into fashion watches? I suppose so. There was once the Generra Hypercolor shirts and other apparel, and now we have the Kamawatch fashion timepieces available in a range of colors which change their hue at 31 degrees Celsius.Let's be clear that Kamawatches are not luxury products. These are simply plastic quartz fashion watches. Kamawatch doesn't even go so far as to offer technical specs on their website - but we asked, and the watches are 40mm wide, produced from polycarbonate with thermic technology paint. Inside the watces are Japanese Miyota quartz 2035 movements. It is seriously so difficult to offer the diameter of the watch so that people can understand how big it will be? When you observe a t
Previously Polished 5124g?
I have been looking at the 5124g for some time now. I absolutely love the watch; I think it's sensational. However, at $27.2k new, I think it's a bit much, especially considering what they go for pre-owned, and I have not found anyone willing to come off that price too much. However, a Patek AD I work with from time-to-time tells me they just got a pre-owned 5124g in from a collector. I asked why it wasn't on their website yet and the salesman said well, because it hasn't been serviced and polished yet. Most of my pre-owned knowledge comes from the world of Rolex, where polishing is very bad. I told him that if the watch was newer, and depending on condition, I would definitely want it unserviced and not polished. Am I just misinformed and this is standard protocol? This is a very reputable Patek AD. He gentleman also said that depending on if our watchmaker is allowed to work on it or not, it will go back to Patek in Manhattan, or stay here with our watchmaker. Is there ever any way t

HELP! Purchasing my first Rolex
Hi all Rolex aficionados! I am quite a newbie in this forum - a newbie to Rolex really. I have always wanted one. I could never pull the trigger - until now. I have come into good stride in my career and I thought what better way to mark this than buy the long coveted dream watch!I am a lady and my choice is the 31mm with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. After that, I am stuck . I cannot for the life of me, decide on the dial. After trying on different dials in AD, I may have narrowed it down to:1. SS with bronze dial with diamond on VI (technically, this is actually two-tone as the bezel is white gold, but for this purpose, I just put SS)2. Two-tone Everose gold in sundust/pale pink dial with diamond markersI suppose my question is - what would you go for - SS or TT? Plus what do you think of the everose? It's really pretty, but someone commented to me that it is on the way out as YG is coming back ? Your thoughts much appreciated!
Field watches
I֪ thinking about a field watch. On one hand, I love the new version of the explorer 1, but while I absolutely intend to get one someday, right now I֪ leaning towards sturdy and serviceable (and not super expensive). So, my top picks at the moment are the Tudor Ranger and a Sinn 856. I֪ torn and would love some advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
