Hands-On: The Montblanc 4810 Orbis Terrarum, A New Case Shape, Size, And Colourful Dial For The Maison's World Time Function (Live Photos, Specs, Price)
The newest version of the Montblanc "Orbis Terrarum" flew a little under the radar when it was introduced C which happens when the timing coincides with a new Annual Calendar Chronograph with a list price of $10,450. But it's still odd given the reception its predecessor received when this model first launched at SIHH 2015. 1 OF 10 Montblanc's new world timer, the 4810 Orbis Terrarum. The original Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum was exactly the kind of watch we want to see more of C a simple, yet elegant complication with an in-house module for under $7,000. So we were thrilled when Montblanc decided to show more of it, 12 months later, this time in the 4810 collection. 2 OF 10 Originally presented in a 41 mm stainless steel or red-gold case, the Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum is Montblanc's take on the classic world time function. It displays the time anywhere on earth at any given moment, thanks to an intuitive and surprisingly legible multi-layer
Partially rescinding my endorsement of Swiss Service Center
In mid-January, I sent my SMP 2552.80 to Swiss Service in Illinois, the closest Omega-authorized service center. I bought it in May, 2000, and never had it serviced before. It was losing ~28 sec/day. They sent a quote a few days later, and I approved all the work. This was my first Swiss watch, and while I recently contemplated selling it, I know it should be a keeper, after thinking about all it went through with me for the past nearly 8 years. The other day, I noticed that my account was debited for the Omega service. Today, I called them and they said it was shipped out and gave me tracking. FedEx just showed up! Notice all the packaging - even my cats were curious! It was wrapped in tissue paper, then a small manila envelope, then a FedEx bubble wrap envelope, then a small FedEx box, then a medium FedEx box. My watch looks fantastic, all nicely polished to nearly new. I wound it 40x and set the time (noticed I didn't have the right date until after I took the pics). Putting
Hour Vision
Hi All,I'm currently in Ireland and have seen a Hour Vision black dial on a strap that I am quite keen on.I already have a blue bond smp and a simple deville from 2002.I have been keen on a GMT SMP (bond) but not sure if they come in black. However, the price I can get the Hour Vision for is just a fraction more than the price I could get a GMT for, so am thinking of going for the Hour vision.Also. Does anyone know if the HV is meant to come in a wooden box or just the plain red one?Cheers.
Any watch collectors on here living in Singapore? (with a 5711)
Would love if someone can take the time to let me finally try on a 5711 in the flesh.Been trying to pick between it and the 15202 for a while now.I can manage to get it, but not very easy to see in the flesh.I am coming to Singapore on the 12th and figure it's the best shot I have got.Already phoned all the retailers there and no one has them in stock.PM me if this is do-able.Beers on me
Rolex diameter choices
Does anyone know how does Rolex dictate what watches get what diameters? I'm a part of the small wrist gang, 7in, and would love to see Rolex make some 37s-39s, especially in GMTs and Subs. However, if Rolex came out with the Deepsea 116660 in a 38in...I would camp outside the AD. I like the new subs, but not a fan of the tankery on my wrist. I hope Rolex comes out with a slimmer case (already a thread about this) and/or a smaller diameter, 38in.
