Vacheron Constantin Announces “World’s Most Complicated Watch:” Here’s a Glimpse
On Sept. 17 in Geneva, at a celebration marking its 260th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin will present what it calls the most ingenious and sophisticated mechanical watch ever made. Ahead of the launch, Vacheron has released some preliminary information about the watch to a small number of watch publications around the world, including WatchTime. (It did not provide an image of the watch.)Here's what we know. The watch, which Vacheron says has two dials, has been created entirely in-house by three VC watchmakers, who worked on it for eight years. The watch was commissioned by a prominent, as-yet-unnamed collector. It incorporates, Vacheron says, entirely new and unique complications representing the most significant technical advancements in watchmaking in modern times. The new complications had to be calculated, designed and developed from scratch. Thus a completely new caliber of movement was created unlike any seen before. One of the new complications, WatchTime has learned exclus
Rolex Oyster Date Mickey Mouse Watch Available On James List
Discovering watches like this is exciting and makes me wonder how the watch world has changed in the last 40 or 50 years. Things really were different back then - take for example Disney working with Rolex to put a classic form of Mickey Mouse on a watch dial. There has been a lot of argument online whether or not these watches are real. Today's Rolex would not likely ever put Mickey Mouse or any character on their watches (though leopard print is a different story). So it makes sense that today's brand devotees are skeptical of these timepieces. It has been suggested that all Mickey Mouse dialed Rolex watches are fakes. Well not necessarily fake Rolex watches, but rather real ones that have had aftermarket dials placed in the watch.? There is actually some merit to this argument because aftermarket Mickey Mouse Rolexes do exist. Based on my research however, I would say that it looks very likely that Rolex did have an actual relationship with Disney in mostly the 1960s and 1970s up to
Introducing: The Montblanc TwinFly Chronograph 110 Years
In addition to the Montblanc TimeWalker ExoTourbillon Minute Chronograph, Montblanc has released another chronograph as part of their 4810 Collection for 2016: The 4810 TwinFly Chronograph. Back in 2012, Montblanc released the first TwinFly and it was a major hit. This year’s TwinFly Chronograph features the flyback chronograph function, dual-time and 24-hour indication. 1 OF 2 The watch is rather large and is in a 43 mm steel case with rectangular chronograph pushers flanking the crown. The dial is silvered guilloché with applied red gold plated Roman numerals. The vertical subsidiary dials display the 24-hour indication (with a small world globe on the top) and the date on the bottom. The chronograph is indicated by the longer blued-steel, red-tipped hand and the second time zone is signified by the shorter skeletonized blued-steel hand. The movement is the newly developed caliber MB LL100.1 and uses a traditional column wheel and vertical clutch system for
