I Senz Drier Rainy Days Ahead With This Umbrella
About two years ago I embarked on an intellectual conquest regarding the state of umbrella technology. Based upon the conclusion I had come to regarding the antiquity of most umbrella designs, I figured it was high time for something better. What I realized is that a simple thing like having a covering from the rain, is a dilemma that our brightest engineers seem to put little effort into. Honestly, the basic umbrella design has to be 250 years old. Other then new materials and some fancy springs, little has changed for 95% of the umbrellas available. In some countries were it rains often, umbrellas are basically disposable goods. Take Japan for instance. While there I noticed that you can get umbrellas just about everywhere you go. They cost about $4.00 each, clearly a price for a disposable good considering everything else there is so expensive. But for someone like myselfI would be willing to pay a bit for an awesome umbrella, which is one of the reasons I got really excited when I l
ROO 44mm rosegold
Hello TrfLast weekend I went to Rome and came home with a brand new PP5711, which was all good, almost. Problem is that I during some sightseeing came by a local AP boutique and ventured inside. The service was pleasant and very service minded. I tried a couple of nice watches but it was not until I tried the ROO Lightning struck ;-)I have never had the watch on my radar being 44mm and way to large. But I'm a semi-big guy just above 100kg and when viewed in the mirror it looked perfect. Now I'm giving hard thought flipping my gold GMT and date just II, adding a little cash and getting a rose gold ROO. After seeing the AP live my gold GMT feels cheap and the finish seems dull. Nobody where I live knows AP and I like that. How do you think the ROO in rose gold will hold up as a daily driver, office-work? I'm thinking the more scratch resistant bezel will help reducing daily tear. I like the thought of having a really nice daily driver and not just something I put on on occasion. RegardsA
Chronograph modules
Started reading about the Tudor heritage chrono and was surprised it was dupraz module attached to a base ETA movement - got me interested and started looking around the web for more information. Anyway, just to share this link from ABTW. .ablogtowatch/inside-d...vement-module/As we know, AP ROOs have attached DD chrono modules as well, and I'm first in line if they ever come up with an integrated chrono movement (whether in the ROC or ROO line.) have a good weekend!
Tag 6000 Chrono
Ok guys I need some opinions. I have my first what I would call a nice watch that I bought probably 20yrs ago. It's a Tag Heuer 6000 Chronograph Quartz. I just had it's serviced directly at Tag and spent $780. It looks basically new now. The problem I have is that I never wear it anymore and it just sits in my watch box. My question is should I sell it? It doesn't really have any sentimental value to me, but I just spent almost $800 to have it serviced. I wouldn't even know what it's worth. I don't have kids so that's not an option. I could give it to one of my older brothers, he's not a watch guy but seems to only like my Rolex watches. So what's the consensus, any opinions?
4 year waiting list for the New Daytona...
According to the AD I was at today...So it made me wonder: If one actually waits and gets a watch 4 years from now...Are they going to pay todays prices...???Or the price 4 years from now...???
