Buying in Europe v Trusted Seller
Hello all i've been researching buying an AP for some time now and am trying to figure out whether or not to pick one up from a trusted seller or wait until I travel to Europe to pick one up. Since the Euro and Dollar are trading close it seems like there is a shot that you could go to Europe and pick up a brand new AP RO from close to the same you could get a used or BNIB from a trusted seller here? Anyone have any experience or know of pricing and discounts available in europe? Side note: I searched the forum for this subject and did not see anything so if this has been answered before I apologize for making a redundant post.
5164R or 5712R or both
hi friends,i was just offered a 5164R aquanaut travel time, which seems to be super-popular here:::)))) i really like the watch but i have a nautilus 5712R, which has some similarities with the 5164R, at least superficially. what do you guys think, which one has the edge? i need to add that i do travel a lot, so the complication on the 5164R makes sense. but i do fear that the aquanaut will depreciate while the nautilus will appreciate.....maybe the two watches are too similar?my other pateks are 5711R and 5227R, with 5980AR coming this year and 5320G next year.
5205 - Why no love for this ref?
Hi All, I'm new to this forum and very much a novice when it comes to PP. I have however watched the 5205g for a while and while I really like the design and how it wears (even if a little thick). For me, it's the perfect 'young mans' annual calendar, the design is clean and modern. However I want to understand why the secondary market prices are so soft. What in your opinions is driving this? Why no love for this ref (I say no love given the soft resale value)? Is the design top far from what the purists want? Are the production numbers too high? Is is that the retail prices are really just gone way too far?All opinions appreciated.J
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Basically I was subject to fraud where some w****er took my 2 Rolex's to sell on a commission sale agreement, all seemed legit until I saw my Watches on a site middle of the country for sale! Long story short I managed to contact fraud and police and I've got my YM back and the Datejust hopefully is coming back Monday. My issue is my Rolex Yachtmaster 68628, 18kt gold midi, some very kind person has taken a link out of the oyster strap which in November I paid rolex 6800 for a new bracelet and now it's too small to get on my wrist as the clasp is on the last hole! Anyone got one laying about or one on there strap they don't need? Appreciate any help! Alex 07941997757
