Tissot Sculpture Line Moonphase "Baby Breguet" Watch
Likely no coincidence that Tissot created a timepiece like this and both Tissot and Breguet are under the same umbrella company - the Swatch Group. While Tissot is best known in the US for their awesome T-Touch timepieces, and other sport watches, they do actually offer some nice classy pieces as well (though a good deal of those are harder to find in the US). Tissot sits as a high-value, entry-level luxury watch portal for the Swatch Group. They are actually in sort of the same boat with Certina watches (also Swatch Group, but those are very hard to find in the US).So new from Tissot is this Sculpture Line Moonphase watch - which I nicknamed the "Tissot Baby Breguet." Why? Well, because the design is just that. Tissot borrowed elements from Breguet such as the machine "guilloche" engraved textured dial, dial layout, and gold case. Yes, in fact this Tissot watch will come in an 18k white or rose gold case. Making this a top-level Tissot timepiece. Tissot timepieces don't often come in
Bring a Loupe: A Heuer That Tracks The Tides, An IWC With A Compass, A Patek With Removable Lugs, And Many Others
This week's Bring A Loupe will focus on quirky watches, and explain the special something that makes each stand out from the standard production of the brand. Among the beautiful oddities featured, you will discover an interesting Patek with removable lugs and an IWC that hides a compass. This is your Bring A Loupe for November 13, 2015. The IWC Compass Reference 3510A, True Tool Watch With A Twist 1 OF 11 The Compass model was launched in 1978 as a collaboration between Porsche Design and IWC; it offered a very astute way to combine a compass and an automatic movement. Detailed R&D – yielding six patents – was necessary to properly shield the movement from the compass' magnetism and allow a swift opening of the top part to reveal the compass underneath. As a result, the watch is obviously thick – 12 mm – but the 39 mm case size partly makes up for that. In addition, it is divinely light, having been manufactured in both aluminu
New to AP Club
Finally got my dream watch today,AP 15400. My watch journey is fairly recent, coming from Tags and Omega, logical next step would have been Rolex until ironically I came across TRF.I was introduced to the whole new world of Haute Horology. I was torn between Rolex submariner ceramic and 15400 but on trying them out in person there was no comparison.AP is a thing of beauty and submariner is more of a tool watch.I still have not owned rolex yet but someday..IMG_0903 by gokuap, on FlickrP1000632 by gokuap, on Flickr

does anyone have the new colt 44?
5726
I was just wondering what the general opinion here about the Nautilus 5726 was...For the longest time I did not understood what people seem to like about the Nautilus (as compared to the dressier watches of PP), but slowly the design is growing on me. And while (sadly) I cannot expect to buy one anytime soon, I started looking at them with greater interest. My current two favorites are the 5726 and the 5990.From what I gathered the 5990 is pretty popular but I have much harder time finding anything about the 5726. My own dilema is that I do find the 5990 to be the more interesting watch. However at the same time I find the 5726 to be the more practical and also the cleaner looking one. While the travel time complication is certainly special, in reality I travel very little, so in practical terms it is not of much use to me. At the same time the dial of the 5990 is a bit too busy and I'm not a fan of how the hour markers are all cut off... So in terms of looks I tend to find the 5726 sl
