Confrrie Horlogre La Clef du Temps Tourbillon
If you ever wished time could pass more quickly, or more slowly, now it can, at least on your wrist. The Clef du Temps Tourbillon is the brainchild of Mathias Buttet, founder of Confrrie Horlogre. The timepiece incorporates a mechanism that allows the owner to modulate the speed of time or, more precisely, to control the running speed of the hours, minutes and seconds displayed by the watch. This feat is accomplished via a three-position crown at 9 o’clock, as follows:Crown position 1: the pace of time slows by half, so the value of one normal hour is displayed as a half-hour on the dial.Crown position 2: the pace of time is normal, i.e. one hour remains one hour.Crown position 3: the pace of time is doubled, so a half-hour becomes a full hour as displayed on the watch. The real trick is that no matter how long the watch is left in position 1 or position 3, returning the crown to position 2 instantly returns the hands to the correct current time. The Clef du Temps will be produc
Manual wind speedies....comments?
As of late, i have been infatuated with the original moon watch but the problem is that they are all manual winds, not autos. Anyone own this timepiece and found it to be a pain to be winding your watch every morning? Also, are there mechanisms to protect you from over winding the watch? Any comments will be welcomed.Thanks.
Anyone heard of NJ Time in Ginza, Tokyo
Stumbled across a vintage watch shop in Ginza called NJ Time during my watch hunting that wasn't already on my research list. They had lots of vintage pieces (1675, 1019, 16750, 6263, 1665, 1680 etc) but wondering if anyone has experience with them.
How much can the BB Rose be beaten up
Have been wearing my BBN ETA for a month now and while the watch is still in prestine condition I sometimes wonder if it can be beaten up same as the Sub Date which was once my daily watch for more than 10 years. The BB especially its bezel to me seems a bit more delicater than the Sub or I am just over worried? Or perhaps it seems delicate because of its vintage charm that the Sub lacks. Would be interesting to hear your opinions on this.
Happy holidays-- collection advice please!
I have a conundrum at the moment with my collection and looking for some advice. I'm only interested in a 3 watch collection, so my current state is:- Omega Speedmaster Automatic (ref 3513.50)- Rolex Milgauss Z-Blue (ref 116400GV)- Jaeger LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon (ref Q1368420)My original thinking was having one everyday watch (Omega), one nice sports watch (Milgauss), and one nice dressy-formal watch (JLC). Now I'm looking to get rid of the JLC MUT Moon because it's slightly dressy for my rotation and I don't like having things I don't use, and I feel it is a little big on my wrists, which are 6.5. I want something more versatile than a moonphase. I have 3 options right now:1. Sell it and use the funds to get a Rolex Explorer 114270 in excellent condition with box and papers (case and bracelet ok, but very small chip on edge of crystal, easily replaceable)-- $0 additional required from me2. Trade it in for a Rolex Explorer 114270 in minty condition with box and papers-- $500 a
