Parts Query: duo coated AR sapphire: does Omega make it for the SMP300?
Hi folks,I have a PO2500 and I love the way the glass disappears at certain angle. Of cos we all know this is due to the duo coated AR glass.I wonder if Omega has similar duo AR coated glass for the standard classic SMP300 Bond (Ref 22208000). I hope to achieve this glass disappearing effect for the SMP300 too.I check Ofrei website but they can only help if I give them the case number. Being the first owner and having that little red dot of the caseback, I don't think I want to open up the case as I prefer to keep her factory sealed. Thanks for all tips!
Saw a 5724 and a 5522. At a Rolex AD!
Stopped into the local Rolex AD who still has my deposit on a SS Daytona, just to check in. Their store doesn't officially carry Patek, but one of the other locations does. She had what I believe was a 5724 with the diamond bezel and baguettes on the clasp. Not my style, but interesting to see. I mentioned something about that limited edition of 600 Patek and she brought one out from the safe. It was the 5522. It's the first two PPs I've seen at this shop. The 5522 was still in a bag, so I couldn't see it that well. The 5724 was really cool in that it has a mini-rotor, so the beautiful back is not obscured so much from view. I thought that was the coolest thing about the watch, but then again, I don't really know anything about them.I didn't take pictures, because I didn't want to look like a tourist.
Pepsi delivery date estimate
I talked with a salesperson at at Rolex AD in Connecticut last week and was told that they will start to receive the new Pepsi in October. They are slated to get delivery of one watch per month. There are 55 people on their waiting list. I won't comment on inaccurate information that some of us have received from ADs in the past. Just passing along the information.
Rolex Warranty Card
Very quick question regarding Rolex's warranty policy. I have a GMT Master II from 2016 and I just noticed something that might concern the voidance of Rolex's warranty. While the date of purchase is written in ultra fine point black pen, the name of purchaser is written in thick sharpie(looks like it was written with a white board marker). As a result, one might think that the name of purchaser was not filled together with the date at the time of purchase. Would this cause RSC to deny warranty claims for my watch in case I need to present my warranty card for service?Or would RSC not pay attention to such trivial detail as long as the warranty card is active? Thanks in advance!
Tag 6000 Chrono
Ok guys I need some opinions. I have my first what I would call a nice watch that I bought probably 20yrs ago. It's a Tag Heuer 6000 Chronograph Quartz. I just had it's serviced directly at Tag and spent $780. It looks basically new now. The problem I have is that I never wear it anymore and it just sits in my watch box. My question is should I sell it? It doesn't really have any sentimental value to me, but I just spent almost $800 to have it serviced. I wouldn't even know what it's worth. I don't have kids so that's not an option. I could give it to one of my older brothers, he's not a watch guy but seems to only like my Rolex watches. So what's the consensus, any opinions?
