Emergency "toughness"?
I'm seriously considering an Emergency but I'm concerned about the robustness of it for use in the field.I'm not a fan of the is it safe to wear my watch threads but I have some genuine concerns and wonder what you guys think.I know that the Emergency was designed as a pilots/aircrew watch to transmit a distress signal on the civil aviation frequency. As such I guess it was designed to be tough enough to survive a crash which it's owner could survive but my worry is that I would use it primarily for mountaineering and, as such, would subject it to much more constant, sustained abuse.Do you think it could take the constant knocks? I mean that both in respect of it functioning as a watch and as a transmitter.I know the vast majority of these things are bought by people who would never conceivably need the transmitter but it is the ONLY reason I'm considering one. I know I could buy a better stand-alone transmitter and carry it with me (and that may be the option I end up going for) but I
Old Dynamic questions
Just bought this little beauty off EBay. Had a few questions after doing a bit of research. I posted it on the Omega forum but no one has replied. I believe it to be genuine but have not seen another with the white second hand. All the others have blue second hands. Also my bracelet links are rolled sandwich links and all the others I have seen are solid. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Aqua Terra Annual Calendar Question
Hello Everyone,Given I usually post over in the Rolex section this is a first for me. I've been thinking of branching over into the Omega space and have been pleasantly surprised as to the watches' overall build and quality This is strictly a non-WIS opinion but over the years I always saw Omega as the Rolex little brother if you will (I know flame away ) but given the price points of some of these other manufacturers (Patek, Lange, etc.) Omega seems like a good value.Question is the AT annual calendar 43mm is substantially more than the AT date only model and I was wondering if this annual calendar model is brand new this year? I haven't seen any references to it n this forum so me thinks it is a new model. Also having a hell of a time deciding what color dial - silver tapestry or the black
I wonder where Brad Pitt's $3 Million Patek is
I just remembered that Angelina Jolie bought Brad a $3 Million platinum Patek, originally made for JB Champion, when they got married 2 years ago.Now that they have split, Angelina kind of strikes me as the type of lady that might throw her ex's stuff in a pile and burn it.Heres a link about the watch in case you forgot about it: .dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ding-gift.html
Which one should I Keep?
I wish to go down to just one from these three lovely Rolex. The reason for the change is that I wish to fund another purchase but I don't want this to affect which one people would keep from the three below. While I accept the Daytona would by itself raise nearly as much as the other two, I also wish to have two nice Rolex, one of these and the new purchase hence why I wish to go down to one - my AD will get a surprise in the new year when I turn up for it! Please put aside anything apart from which you like best and which you would keep and think will be the best to live with for many years to come side by side with one more Rolex. 1. BLNR 2016 - bought new2. Submariner 2010 16610 - bought nos3. Daytona Ceramic white dial - bought new and paid retail
