Zenith Class Lady Moonphase Watch For 2009
Zenith Class Lady Moonphase in Stainless Steel with White DialAs you may know, Zenith is a brand that I am very fond of. They take risks and have the history to back these risks up. While the trend of women wearing men's watches has been growing, Zenith was one of the first to embrace and encourage this. And, always to be one step ahead, Zenith has also created many designs with a more masculine yet edgy feel for women. Instead of just making models smaller for a woman's wrist, the designs are tailored more to the taste of a truly modern woman.Such as the new Class Lady Moonphase introduced at this year's Baselworld show, unfortunately Thierry Nataf's last gig. I am sad to see Thierry leave, as I have always admired and respected his vision. But, I am also very excited to see the direction that this brands goes moving forward. For now, Thierry and the team from Le Locle have given us the Class Lady Moonphase as one last parting gift. And what a gift it is.The Class Collection appe
Introducing The Nomos True Blue Zurich Weltzeit, A Favorite Receives A New Dial, And In-House Escapement
You would be hard-pressed to find a more somber blue on the color palette, but that’s just how we like our Bauhaus – subdued and straightforward. The new True Blue Zurich Weltzeit is NOMOS’ chic take on its exquisite GMT that made headlines a few years back (check out this old-skool Week on the Wrist) and a recent appearance at HODINKEE’S event to welcome NOMOS to the States earlier this summer. Let’s dive right in.It’s unlikely for a HODINKEE reader to be unfamiliar with NOMOS, but just in case you haven’t had the privilege of being introduced to the younger German – here’s a quick preface. NOMOS Glashütte was born in '91 in the little town of Glashütte, Germany. If that name sounds familiar, that's because it’s also the birthplace of A. Lange & Söhne, the house that pioneered the three-quarter plate. Nivarox was patented here, and clearly, pedigree is contagious in this environment. 2 OF 3
What inventions are attributed to Patek Philippe?
Hello everyone, I am opening this thread because I must say that I know very little about Patek Philippe except that it's one of the horological manufactures with the most history and inventions. But it's hard to see the reality, for example one website said that the 1st automatic wristwatch came out in the 1940's, when it's verified that it came out in 1924 in 3 manufactures, Blancpain and 2 others which I don't remember, using the Harwood registered trademark. So I would like to know what important innovations were brought into the watch industry. To be honest I don't really understand the huge prices of Pateks, apart from some pieces in the Patek haute horlogerie section, which are beautiful and great technical achievements, I can't say that I find Patek watches very beautiful, for example their Nautilus models are far from finding grace in my eyes, compared to Blancpain fifty fathoms, Rolex submariners and sea dwellers, to name the most famous diving watches, they are much less appeal
