The 15202 is a temptress!
Not sure if I'm looking for moral support, enabling, or a swift kick to the head but here is the issue: I really want a 15202 (at least I think I do) but I just don't think it fits my lifestyle. I'm sure I would give it a number of scratches and just bang it around a lot because I want to wear it daily but does that... nay SHOULD that matter? Watches are meant to be worn right!? But what about the WR... and so goes the conversation in my brain. Currently I have a 3 watch collection: Speedy, Milgauss Z blue and an AP Diver. To me the speedy is the only watch that is SAFE in the collection; the z-blue and diver could go on the chopping block for the 15202. Mind you, I've owned the 15202 once before but stupidly traded away though I can't recall why. What are peoples thoughts? Trade for it? Keep what I have cause they are more ME? Any help appreciated
Time to buy non-rolex watch
Hello TRFI have been looking at Patek and AP for the last months and reading a lot here and where i could find inspiration. I really like wearing gold (rolex GMT) and i'm drawn in that direction again, no matter what its not going to be a daily driver. I'm not into advanced complications and travel with my SD4000. Have narroved it down to:5711 rose gold (aprox 50k USD)AP 15400 rose gold (aprox 35k USD)And perhaps5711 Steel (aprox 35k USD)The Price for the PP rose gold seems fine compared to the steel version. The AP is nice but not a PP and will perhaps leave an itch un-scratched...Any thougts, pointers, suggestions is appreciatet. RegardsAlexanderRegardsAlexander116718LN GN, 116600, 116200, 116610LV
OPINIONS PLEASE - 5164 or 5167 & Royal Oak?
Ladies and Gentlemen,Having been greatly influenced by JorgeCCW, I am in the process of reducing my Rolex collection from 6 to 2 or 3 with a view to entering the rarified world of PP and AP.Whilst I like both the 15400 and the Diver, I am slowly coming to the conclusion that many of you have already reached....however wonderful AP is, PP is a level above. The only PPs that are correct for me at this time are the Aquanauts....I only wear sporty watches (no leather straps) and unfortunately the Nautilus just don't do it for me. I love the clean face of the 5167, whilst I prefer the thickness and weight of the 5164. I think the travel time complication is fantastic, and that the date wheel on the 5164 is unattractive and a waste of space!So.....if you had the choice of having either the 5164, or the 5167 and an SS Royal Oak.....WHAT WOULD YOU DO?All of this is unfortunately made slightly more urgent by the recent actions of the Swiss Central Bank.....so I really look forward to your opinio
How does 5167 look on a larger wrist...7 3/4"?
I had the next watch purchase narrowed to an AP ROO Black Theme or a Patek Philippe 5167A-001. Thanks to all of the PP enablers' pics, I'm 99% certain that 5167 is the right choice. Unfortunately, my AD doesn't have any 5167s in stock to try on. I do have a slightly larger 7 3/4 wrist. Anyone with similar size wrist that can share your experience and wrist shot pics?Thank you.
