Seiko Moving Design Discus Watch Is Beautiful, Basic, And Mechanical
I am on a roll talking about all these cool watches from Seiko (and Citizen) that Japan gets, but we don't. If you've been to Japan, you know that they have a ton more watch stores than we do,? and such stores are often combined with other items such as electronic gadgetry. Everything from the mundane to the unique is displayed tightly together and unless you have a good eye, much of the time you need to know what you are looking for - else you miss it.So today we have another interesting watch from Seiko that was released about a year ago, and has had a lot of mixed reviews (from a style perspective). No one argues about the watch quality or function, but not everyone appreciates its simplicity. It is also a contradiction of sorts, as it uses a mechanical movement to produce a (semi) digital time display, but that just makes it more interesting.The watch itself is just a variation on a standard three hand movement. Why Rolex, again?
So I'm at a restaurant with a group of friends who haven't seen each other in a while. The guy next to me remarks on how much he likes the watch worn opposite me, a big black quartz Diesel. They admire it for a bit, and move on. AR coating on non-cyclops crystals?
Site referenced below (source of attached pic) suggests Rolex apply AR coating on top, or on top and below, of current production non-cyclops models.I had been under impression Rolex do not apply AR coating to any of their crystals, only underneath the cyclops on date models.Any forum members available to examine laser-etched coronet on their recent production flat crystal model (e.g., Explorer I, Oyster Perpetual, no-date Sub) for indication AR coating is used?I am prohibited from posting links because my post count is too low; Google how to identify Rolex's anti-reflective coating and first result is page spurring this question.
