Original Rolex Milgauss Tops $110,000 At Auction
An original Rolex Milgauss Ref. 6541 produced in 1958 brought more than $113,000, including buyer’s premium, at today’s Bonhams auction of fine wristwatches in London. The watch, Lot 139, was originally sold by Watches of Switzerland in New Bond Street in 1962. Characterized by the “lightening strike” center seconds hand, the Milgauss was designed for use in areas subjected to high levels of electro-magnetic radiation. This example has a black honeycomb dial, “Milgauss” printed in red, a caliber 1066M movement, and a 35mm case.
Omega special Hour Vision Blue wristwatch
The beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say. But if the beholder has poor vision, the beauty of the world is lost. And help restore this image is Orbis International, and its eye hospital of flight in the fight against preventable blindness. And now, they have some new friends in luxury watchmakers Omega and their Ambassador, actor Daniel Craig.
Trying To Make A Decision
Hello EveryoneAs some might know, I originally was trying to decide between the Diver and 15400. Now I'm having trouble deciding between the Diver, Safari or Panda. I like them all equally for different reasons and keep looking at pictures, but they are all so nice. The 15400 is still in the picture, but I think i will save that for another time. Just wanted to take a poll to see what the general consensus is out there. Keep in mind this will be my first AP. Thanks in advance for your input.
Omega Basel display
Went to the Basel event at the local boutique this evening. Lots of cool stuff.Event was good. Not many people there but it was kind of come and go. Bent the ear of one of the sales guys for nearly an hour who I think was tired of getting watches out for me by the time I left. Some things I learned:The Deep Black is amazing, and I WILL be getting one.The new PloProf doesn't do anything for me.Omega changed it up a bit and now all POs that are orange/grey are Titanium (not sure I ever saw that as part of the announcement). In the past, the blue variants were always Ti. And they now have a blue PO in stainless steel. The 18kt PO on rubber strap (that looks like alligator). This is blue, although hard to see in the pic. This has now taken the droolworthy place on my list over the 18kt/Oysterflex Yachtmaster. The new Speedmaster Moonphase is pretty sweet.
Anyone interests in PAM 682?
Had the chance to try one on today. Tempted to get it. Anyone already purchased one and can kindly share their thoughts? For some weird reason i find the bezel a bit too overwhelming on the smaller dial. It looked more proportion on the 44 or 47 mm subs
