Eterna Madison Watch With New Calibre 3505 Spherodrive Movement
Leave it to a very ordinary watch to showcase some cool new technology. This is really interesting because most watch brands would just go nuts with a wildly designed watch and marketing to tell the world about even the slightest movement improvement. This is actually quite a cool thing from Eterna. You should also know that Eterna actually started the major watch movement maker ETA before it was later acquired by the Swatch Group. Here, the new technology is placed in the demure Eterna men's Madison watch. The new technology is called the Eterna Spherodrive and is a new type of mainspring barrel. That is the part of the mechanical watch the holds the mainspring, which is where all the power comes from. The mainspring is wound manually or via an automatic rotor. As the spring unwinds in a regulated manner, the power it released is used to power a mechanical watch. Every true mechanical watch that is out there uses some manner of main spring. As you can imagine, a mainspring is the heart
Blognapping: Often Innocent Copyright Violations
There is often a misconception that content online is either free or up for grabs. Most of us are well skilled in the art of copying and pasting, and we take its functionality for granted. Often times taking other people's content, we seldom stop to think of the implications. Granted, this is not my personal opinion of the appropriateness of such conduct, more an attempt to enlighten those who are not aware of their actions.Whether or not it has an accompanying copyright registration with the Federal Government, all original works of authorship posted online have inherent copyright protection. This means that it belongs to the author who created or owns the content, and that others may not make use of it freely.Essentially, copyright protection means an author of a work has the exclusive right to profit and distribute the work. Which is the Purists Navitimer?
Hey guys,I'm looking to complete what I call my basic necessities collection, which currently includes a Submariner 14060, a Speedmaster 3570.50 and a PAM 000. Obviously the missing piece is a Breitling Navitimer.Looking around I see this AOPA Anniversary model popping up quite a bit. It looks like it's very similar in appearance to the original Navi, with black sub dials and the AOPA logo on the dial. But the fact that it's so easy to find, and oftentimes NIB, kind of makes me wonder what's wrong with it. Is this an unloved model for some reason?Considering what I currently have, which Navi fits the bill? There are many. Is the A23322 the purist's choice, or is the newer 01, or is the AOPA Anniv model a good fit? Then again, they also make the Heritage model...I know that they are all great watches with great movements. I'm just looking for insight from you guys regarding which would fit best into my little collection of basics. Thanks in advance!

Oh what a feeling...
I believe most of us would not deny that one of the best parts of our hobby/passion is the first days after receiving a watch that you have patiently waited for...sometimes weeks, months, or even years.Yesterday I had the pleasure of wearing my new 5167 for the first time...outstanding is the first word that comes to mind!! Thank you so much for all the wonderful information that is posted in this forum, it really helped me to decide to get back to the Aquanaut. But I digress....Two years ago I purchased my first Patek (5167 on bracelet) and to be honest I really never warmed up to the look on the bracelet. We all know what happens next, I traded this piece towards 2 Rolex models just 4 months later. Looking back that was a mistake as I should have just ordered a rubber strap & clasp. Fast forward to two months ago when my wife and I were spending a long weekend away from the kids. Of course I stopped into the Patek dealer that was in the city we escaped to and after trying on a 516
