In-Depth: A Visit To Kansas City For The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute's 2015 Natio
The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute held its 2015 national convention in Kansas City last week and by all accounts it was a massive success. With many upstart American watch brands in attendance, the theme for this year's convention was The Rebirth of the American Watchmaking Spirit. HODINKEE was there to learn more about the history of this venerable organization, and what is in store for its future. 1 OF 9 The convention was held at Kansas City's glamorous Hotel Phillips. Hi Gentlemen,Since our mighty dollar has fallen so much against the USD which rules out purchasing from USA, my AP itch is starting to crawl back (at the wrong time) What is a reasonable discount for Australian ADs to give for a SS novelty or even SS RO chrono 41mm? Im not limited to sydney as i often travel for work.Any input will be appreciated, feel free to pm if you want to protect the ADs name. Thanks,James

What's driving up the demand on the 5-digit GMT Master II's?
Looking through the For Sale section, in just the past 12-24 months it looks like prices on the 5-digit GMT Master II's have gone up tremendously -- something like 20-25% if I had to ballpark a figure. The market is showing that people are willing to pay, but what's driving that demand? Are those watches, particularly the Pepsi, just very in right now? Those are beautiful references, I understand the desire to own one, I'm just wondering why the sudden increase in such a short period of time.
