Movado Launches Three New Smartwatches
Two Swiss watch companies threw their hats into the smartwatch ring right before the holiday shopping season. One is TAG Heuer, which introduced its Connected Watch, developed in cooperation with Intel Corp. and Google and powered by Android Wear technology (we covered it here). The other company is Movado, which launched three smartwatches: two in its Swiss-made collection and one in its Bold line of less expensive, non-Swiss casual watches.Movado is manufacturing its new smartwatches in collaboration with Fullpower Technologies, for the Movado Swiss pieces, and with HP, for the Bold smartwatches.The Swiss-made watches are called Movado Motion, and are powered by Fullpower's MotionX-365 platform. Sometimes we appreciate a timepiece that brings something extra to your arm apart from straightforward time-keeping. Take, for example, the watches of Concord Night Vision range. Originally released in 2003, the Swiss-made range was relaunched this year at BaselWorld and attempts to bring the utility of their famous pocketknives to your wrist wear.

Incoming! Round two, and I'm not letting go this time.
My first Patek was the 5712/1a. I loved it, but naively I sold it to fund bigger and better. That was a mistake. I will learn from my mistake and not be doomed to repeat it. I received today my new 5712/1a. It's in the box still as it was delivered to me in the office. It's going to be a long day before I can get to the local Patek AD to get it sized. Here's the first pic, more to follow once it's sized and on the wrist. P.S. Having called multiple ADs around the country, the 5711 is no where to be found. I was added to two lists as I may pair it (the 5711 white dial, though) with the 5712 if/when my name is called. And, there were only two 5712s available (I probably called about 20 ADs). Switching it up
In my opinion, Rolex will always take top prize overall. However, I recently picked up a Panerai and have been thoroughly enjoying it. Their history is really cool and I love the ease of changing the straps. It is amazing how so many varied straps look good on a single cushion cased Panerai. Funny thing is I never gave Panerai's a real look until recently. Posting this mainly for folks that are frustrated with the the lack of Rolex sports models out there. Might want to dive in a bit with Panerai.
