TAG Heuer Partners with North American Soccer Organizations
TAG Heuer has announced a landmark, long-term partnership agreement with Major League Soccer (MLS) and the U.S. Soccer Federation. The partnership, which commences on March 6, the first day of the 2016 MLS season, also includes the Professional Referee Organization (PRO), the organization responsible for managing the referee and assistant referee program in professional soccer leagues in the United States and Canada. As part of the agreement, PRO referees will wear the recently launched TAG Heuer Connected Watch during matches, and will also brandish the TAG Heuer logo on their uniforms. TAG Heuer branding will also be visible on the substitution board used on the sideline during matches.Roger RueggerMLS Commissioner Don Garber at the New York press conference Roger RueggerMLS Referees will wear TAG Heuer-branded uniforms during the 2016 season. JEANRICHARD Nocturnal Adventures Watches For 2014
You have to hand it to JEANRICHARD. ?When most brands introduce a variant of existing models, there's not much to tell the models apart other than a suffix on the model reference number. ?With their three newest watches, they've come up with a name for the, well, sub-collection: ?Nocturnal Adventures. This new group of watches features two variants of their Terrascope, and one of the 1681. ?What makes these watches different from their predecessors is the fact that they are predominantly black - black dials, black cases, black straps. ?This is also, of course, where the first part of the name from the group comes from; the second part just being that JEANRICHARD intends their watches to be ready for sport adventures. We'll start with the Terrascope models, as these are likely the most familiar style from JR for many. ?These share the same 44mm case and overall styling that we've come to know and love from the Terrascope line. ?Where they branch off is with their finishing. The first one (
Help identify a vintage Omega.
I found this in Kuwait. It's a vintage Omega that was a gift from King Hussain Bin Talal of Jordan. No boxes or papers, the guy is asking $500 for it. Can anyone identify the watch or know how much it's worth?vomega.JPG
Mayors AD
Last month I decided to place a 20% deposit for a sub 116613LB from Mayors down in Miami due to the shortage of sport models. I've been trying to get my hands on this model and it seems like it sells very quickly. While I was in Orlando last weekend visiting some friends, I decided to stop by another Mayors AD which luckily had it on display. I tried it on and told him I wanted to buy it knowing that I could cancel my deposit I placed in Miami. With this is mind, I tried to see if I could score a good discount considering I would pay cash and unfortunately it did not work. The salesperson was set on MSRP + tax and did not give me the option to ship out of state to avoid paying the tax on the spot. They said that it's considered a hot watch, in which no discount for any sport models. I ended up not purchasing the watch and now left waiting until my order arrives. Hopefully a better deal is given to me at the Mayors in Miami. I was wondering if this was usually the case with Mayors?
Rolex - keep cutting supply of sports models please!! (What say you?)
Is any one else happy that Rolex has cut supply on sports models? Or in the alternative, if given the choice between unlimited supply of sports models and what's most probably manufactured scarcity, is anyone else happy about the scarcity?I actually like that Rolex is forward-thinking in order to keep value in the brand. I like that they're taking (what they feel to be) affirmative steps to ensure value retention in an uncertain mechanical watch future landscape. If they didn't do that, I'd imagine that it would be easy to be blindsided. Don't believe me, go back thirty years and tell Sears and Kmart and Blockbuster that they wouldn't be on top in their respective industries. We hear a lot from the people who are salty because they can't find a Daytona or a 116610lv or a blnr. They're perpetually on the cusp of leaving the brand for Omega or Iwc. But I think that there are folks that think that Rolex' strategy is a good one. Any thoughts from that camp?
