Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver
Audemars Piguet launched a new diver’s watch at SIHH last week. The Royal Oak Offshore Diver measures 42mm x 13.75mm and is powered by AP’s manufacture 3120 automatic movement. The ROO Diver meets or surpasses each of the Swiss watch industry norms (NIHS) for dive watches, including time preselection device, visibility, water resistance, anti-magnetic properties, resistance to shock and thermal variations, and resistance to external forces. The time preselection device norm (NIHS 92-11 corresponding to ISO 6425) calls for a device that is protected against any unintentional rotation. The ROO Diver has a unidirectional inner bezel that is activated via a click mechanism linked to the crown at 10 o’clock. The wearer must unscrew the crown to turn the bezel.The Swiss dive watch norms require that the time measured on the inner dial ring must be readable in the dark from a distance of 25 cm, or about 10 inches. Bedat & Co. has an interesting history for not being such an old brand. Life, lost, and then reborn, the brand today is now trying to attack Cartier's market share for women's pieces. During the brand's former life (and potentially again in its future) it had a few men's models as well. One of my favorite of them (and one of the only ones) was the Bedat & Co. Number (No.) 8.Wit a sort of cushion shaped case that had a round dial, the watch comes in a few flavors. Looking to get my first Patek
Thank you in advance and sorry for a new thread, but most of the ones I saw regarding this started with asking advice regarding a couple of watches. I wanted to keep it broader.I am looking to add a Patek to my watches. I have a Deep Sea Dweller and a GMT (same year I was born) and a Cartier Tank that was my grandfathers. I am 6'7 and the Deep Sea Dweller looks like a normal watch on me..haha. My wife actually works for Tiffany so I would love a co-brand if I could find one but not set on that.Will probably try to buy a pre-owned but not 100%. Budget is up to 45k but will consider anything.From reading pretty much every thread here on Patek, it seems that people either say get what I love (problem being I pretty much love them all) and/OR Nautilus, blue dial SS :)I justify my lust with thinking that collectibility will retain investment, so I am 100% interested in items with good resale and collectibility.Sorry for the book and thank you so much in advance. Serial number and dates
Been looking at a Rolex with a warranty certificate dated 2098 but the watch serial is a D which I believe to be 2005/6.Could it be that the watch has sat in a window for some time before being purchased or does it suggest something wrong?
