The Britains are Coming: Burberry’s New Watch Collection
Following in the footsteps of brands like Ralph Lauren, Herm��s and Louis Vuitton, all of which have made moves to enhance the perception of so-called fashion watches, the British fashion house Burberry is releasing a new high-end wristwatch collection with Swiss movements, called the Britain. Designed by Burberry’s chief creative director Christopher Bailey, the watches evoke the look of the brand’s most famous contribution to the fashion world, the iconic Burberry trench coat. The cases have a rounded octagonal shape and a multi-faceted three-part construction; four custom-designed bolts, inspired by the buttons on the trench coat and screwed down by hand, fasten the bezel to the case middle and caseback. The casebacks have a domed design inspired by those of classical British pocketwatches and, in the models with mechanical movements, see-through exhibition casebacks of sapphire crystal. This is incredible and my favorite Speedmaster Pro combination
I think out of the Mitsukoshi SE Panda, Gemini blue dial and the CK-2998, this is easily my favorite Speedmaster combination. I switched out the blue strap and placed the special ordered 1125 bracelet on the CK-2998 and the result, just out of this world awesome. The combination screams vintage and the bracelet for some reason just makes the blue look more black and resulting in a super panda look. Omega should really make the CK-2998 release in a bracelet and even if they made the run in 8,000 pieces, they would sell out like hot cakes. Is this not just awesome or what?

Am I crazy to sell?
After a long search for a new 114060 in the UK - and frustration with the random rubbish ADs were telling me about wait lists - I finally gave up and bought a new one while on holiday in Cologne in Dec 2017. Even then only one AD in the city had one in stock and they were reluctant to sell it to me. Sadly with the poor exchange rate I paid the EURO tax and effectively bought over UK retail.Cut to today, and I fear I'm going to have to sell it as **IF** I've not been fibbed to I'm getting close to the top of the wait list for a BLNR locally and will need to somehow pay for it **OR** I quite fancy a BB inhouse instead, something I can wear every day without worrying too much about it.I was offered 5100-5300 from a well know watch purchasing company. Of course I would refuse to sell unless they go with 5300, but even at that prie am I crazy to sell at that? Is it worth holding onto it?What do people think?Apologies for the indecision.
