In-Depth: Four Tips To Spot (And Avoid) A Restored Dial
Collecting vintage watches isn’t for the faint-hearted. There are many, many things that can go wrong if one doesn’t know what to look out for – wrong movements, crowns, hands, franken-watches – the list goes on. In the spirit of what we published a few weeks ago, today we want to share some tips on one step of the vintage watch due diligence process: how to spot (and avoid) a restored dial.As many collectors will tell you, the dial is the most valuable part of any vintage watch. In most cases, a pristine dial with minimal patina, zero scratches, and no blemishes can fetch significantly higher prices than dials with some degree of wear, with the exception of some specific instances where patina might be preferred (e.g. tropical-dial Rolex submariners). 1 OF 17 Two pink gold 6062s, both alike in dignity C but not in price. Questions regarding RGRC/ RG 44 novelty/ RG 41mm chrono
Hello all,Just curious to get some opinions and input regarding the above mentioned pieces. I just recently picked up a new Rose gold Rubberclad with the new dial but was offered an opportunity to pick up a new RG 44 or a 41mm chrono from my AD. This would require me selling the Rubberclad. I had always wanted the Rubberclad but with AP's new lineup the other two rose gold pieces are really attractive as well (recent pics on this board don't help!!) So I'm just curious to gear about comparisons on wearability, aesthetics or any other factors worth noting between these pieces. Thanks in advance!!Carlos

WatchTime a special report: ROLEX
Today I dropped by a local Rolex AD trying my luck getting another SD43 but there was no such thing, their SS sport display is very thin....But I walked away with few Rolex goodies. To share the wealth, I have an extra copy of the WatchTime Rolex Special Report to give away, it's free to the 1st person who responses to this thread with a pix of his/her Rolex on the wrist with today date (the 23rd).US shipping only please
Rolex addition(s) time
Ok folks, I'm new here and did my first deal with Superdog last week, and while he's been like the Yoda for many of my questions via text, I figured I'd throw this softball at the group. I have about 8 watches in the collection, mostly Omega's, a PAM Sub, and a Tudor BB Heritage Chrono, but the time has come to begin adding the Rolex pieces. While I'm not going to add them all at once (though I can't guarantee that emotion won't get the best of me), I'd love everyone's thoughts on what the must have's in the collection should be. Below is my list in order of planned acquisition, unless an o[pportunity comes up one of the others (lol...that's what I say to justify it right?).116710126334 (Blue stick)11610LN116519LN116655Thanks in advance for the feedback, and go easy on me fellas!
