Video: The State Of Online Watch Sales & The e-Future Of Luxury
Consulting firm L2 Think Tank out of New York City just released a video supplement to their 2012 Watches & Jewelry report as part of their Digital IQ Index series. I don't know much about L2 yet, but their research seems to be along the same vein as that from the Digital Luxury Group (DLG) with their World Watch Report series (that I am a contributor for). Companies like L2 and DLG are primarily research and consulting firms which profit by providing advice and data to brands. They aren't involved in marketing or PR, so videos of this nature don't come with inherent bias.L2 members (likely meaning their "clients") have access to the full report, which I would rather like to see. The report seems to do two things. It first measures the "Digital IQ" of the 47 watch and jewelry brands included in the research. Next, it offers predictions and advice on digital commerce and marketing best practices as well as quantifiable predictions for the future. It is quite professional and I appre
HourTime Show Podcast Episode 5 - Bell & Ross Goes Electric + Some Buying Tips
This is a good show in term of content, but the recording was done while I lost my voice, and while John was in China (he couldn't even test to see if we posted it online properly because the Internet is so heavily censored in China!). So pardon our oddities or faintness in sound. Just turn that volume way up! Enjoy folks. We talk about the "Grey Market" for watches, watch companies' animosity toward allowing you to buy online, and the Internet's and Bell & Ross' role in changing what the Watch Grey Market looks like.? The new, thinnest Pathfinder PAW-2000 from Casio with satellite syncing, auto-illumination and much more that makes it a go-to outdoor watch.? We then complain about watch accessories that are as expensive or more expensive than the watches themselves.? We then introduce the concept of Febreezing your nylon straps.? John puts forth some knowledge about GMT watches.Listen to HourTime episode 5 at HourTimeShowwatches-dealer here.Or, download/stream the .mp3 here.
My first AP ROO 44mm Carbon or SS?
I cannot decide which i like more. I know this question is highly subjective, but I thought I would ask and get some TRF opinions. Pic for reference:
Movin' on Up...
Bought the RG Rubberclad in 2011 and loved it and wore it for 2.5 years.Recently sold it and moved on up to the 44mm RG ROO Novelty.I think its going to take winning the lottery to make the final leap to the ultimate AP RG ROO...the tourbillon!!!Wrist shot and a pic with its two younger brothers below...
Rolex Theft by Home Break-in
I never thought I'd be posting this thread but it has happened to me now. I was away from home for a day - didn't set the alarm (mistake 1).I thought I'd be gone for an hour or so, but a family emergency took much longer and arrived home to the results of a burglary. Not sharing details - the topic is about Rolexes that were stolen. A total of 4 were taken and I'm sharing serial numbers for the benefit of our community to avoid buying one of them.1. Men's Platona s/n 8D7054512. Ladies TT OP diamond dial & bezel s/n K3021253. Men's YG DD on strap s/n not available right now (my laptop was stolen - it had the s/n) - stock photo below.4. Ladies SS OP white Roman dial s/n papers missing but a stock pic is below.
