Ebel Classic Hexagon GMT Rose Gold Watch: Two Times Done Well
The last few years have been a bit of a revitalization period for Swiss Ebel watches. The prominent brand was growing a bit staid, and it needed some new exciting watches, especially men's watches. So it brushed the dust off of it's classic hexagon case (you know, it roughly has six sides), and started releasing some new models. The new and larger watches are typified by the case shape and five screws, often with then faceted hands. The good looks of the watches combined with some serious marketing efforts have really helped Ebel out. One of the things that I really like about their designs is the simplicity. A few of the watches are a bit more "out there" in appeal, but this Classic Hexagon GMT watch really epitomizes simple good looks. Seeing the watch itself is the true convincing element to appreciating the timepiece. The case is slightly rounded not to look flat, and the size of the larger version is impressive. Further, the polish and finish (bezel and much of the face are polish
Very excited!!!!!!
Doing a routine run through Philly this week and going to Timepiece Perfection at some point. Really excited to be able to try on a 15300 and 15400 and compare side by side. The AP bug has been biting me a little, but there aren't any dealers close to me. Is it possible and and that I get something other than Rolex???? Blasphemy!!!!!! Since I don't know much about AP, is there anything specific I need to look for on these two watches?
Custom strap for AT 8500 - step by step
Posted on other forums but I know there's a lot of AT love here.1. Acquire the right watch - AT 8500 Golf2. Choose the color of alligator hide. I was even able to choose which part of the hide to use for best scale patterns. Kay at Ekamon straps is great to work with at customization.3. Choose color of stitching4. Choose the size and hole placements - I did not need all the extra holes!5. Exchange emails to confirm, patiently wait to make your strap, patiently wait to be shipped from the other side of the world....then enjoy. I had a feeling it would turn out OK. The green stitching is subtle but matches the golf green of the watch perfectly. The matte brown is just right to contrast against the black dial. Just enough to make it interesting. Thanks for looking.
Which Chronograph to get?
Hi guys,I am looking to eventually add a chronograph to my collection and was wondering what you guys would recommend?Im not looking at anything more than around ?3500I have my eye on the speedy hesalite model and also the Tudor black bay chrono on leather. Are there any other models I should be considering?P.s - if all else fails the Tudor GMT black bay will do me just fine! LolThanks for the advice guys.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rolex Strategy
If this has been discussed, I am sorry. I did a search, but was unable to find. I think that most of us will likely agree that Rolex is the king of marketing. With the current lack of sports models most specifically in the UK and the US, do you think this is part of their marketing? I have heard from many sources that AD's are not getting any new shipments, specifically for sports models, until after the new year. That seems odd to me. My guess would always be that they want to sell more watches. Or, maybe they want to drive more sales of the professional watches?Or, maybe they are looking to create scarcity in the market so that they can soon raise their prices?Or, maybe they simply are looking to become more exclusive so they are limiting their supply?Or, maybe they are just unable to keep up with demand?I know for a fact it has had an effect on me. The simple fact that a 114060 is seemingly so hard to get, makes me want to get one. Then again, I have always been a sucker for ma
