Baselworld 2015: The Breitling Chronoliner Takes Flight
Breitling looks to be emphasizing its history in 2015, with a number of watches that highlight the brand’s heritage in tool watches and precision timing devices. Sometimes that means revamping or reissuing classic models C one of which we’ve recently discussed here. But it can also mean introducing a new line that harks back to vintage design elements and a classic functionality. In that vein, Breitling gives us a new collection: the Breitling Chronoliner. The Breitling Chronoliner is intended as a pilots’ watch, but maybe not how you’d think of that category most often. Whereas pilots’ watches today are usually designed to emphasize the more technical aspects of aviation, Breitling links the Chronoliner to the golden age of flight and the expansion of commercial air travel in the middle of the 20th century. In a statement, the brand dubs it “the authentic flight captain’s watch.” Breitling also says the watch was inspired by models of the
Scuderia Ferrari One Watch By Cabestan
The big news this week in the watch world was the big deal between Ferrari and high-end watch maker Cabestan along with its designer Jean-Francois Ruchonnet. Cabestan is to make a limited edition collection of very high-end Ferrari branded watches. I briefly discussed the Ferrari / Cabestan watch deal here on Luxist. This comes just a few months after Ferrari officially broke ties with Panerai, who was previously given a license to make Ferrari branded watches. I discussed the termination of the Panerai/Ferrari relationship here. Panerai was making watches priced comparable to other Panerai watches in the $10,000 range (give or take several thousand) for most of the Ferrari watches. The Panerai name wasn't even on the dial. The watches were a market failure - bigger than you'd think when it came to the popular Ferrari name. Now, after the ink is about dry on all the termination documents with Panerai, Ferrari has chosen a new partner with Swiss brand Cabestan. Seen here is an image of
Review of the Casio G-Shock Gulfman (GW-9100) From WatchReport.com
The new Casio G-Shock Gulfman is an interesting new addition to Casio's G-Shock line. It has the same set of features as all the G-Shocks I review, plus a couple of new features.
can anyone recommend an independent watc repair in Los Angeles?
My constellation is running slow and the date will no longer change. This is a quartz movement.
Proposed swap RO---5712r
Was hoping to get some opinions on a swap a friend of mine is considering to make.He has a RO time only in rose on leather that he bought from an AD 3 years ago. Believe he paid low 30s. He has a 7 day iwc portugese as well and is trying to make a swap for a 5712r on leather. He has 2 offers for the swap from two non AD , plus 17 and plus 14 cash. Seems like it's a consistent market. I encouraged him to look at new mint preowned as my 5711 is.Prices look right? Would urge new or would you be comfortable saving 5 or so k for preowned on this reference? I already have offers for more than I've paid on the 5711. TyvmSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
