SIHH 2015: Baume & Mercier’s New Classima Collection
At SIHH in Geneva, Baume & Mercier presented its redesigned Classima collection. Targeted at entry-level consumers, the Classima line includes men’s steel and two-tone automatic models. The Classima collection’s new watches are 3-hand models with date display. They are built off of a Sellita SW200 base caliber, similar to the ETA 2824. It beats at 28,800 vph and how a power reserve of 38 hours. It runs in 26 jewels. The men’s Classima is 40 mm in diameter and 8.95 mm thick. It has blued steel hands for the hour, minutes and seconds. Applied hour indexes include Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. A date window is at 3 o’clock. One of the defining aesthetic features of the watch is its inner dial, where the silver-colored opaline is engraved with a straight-line guilloch design. This guilloch technique has been used on the dials of past Classima watches, but the new models broaden the ridges for a more reserved look.Through the sapphire-crystal cas
Ball Watch Co. Engineer Hydrocarbon Magnate
Ball claims its new EH Magnate is built around a single objective: to create a utilitarian watch designed for people who demand optimal reliability. It delivers on that count, and adds into the bargain a COSC-certified chronometer movement and the Ball Watch reputation for ruggedness and excellent nighttime legibility. Find wallpaper and pricing inside. The Magnate Chronograph is powered by the automatic-winding Ball 2050 movement (ETA 2824 base) with a chronograph module and date display. The movement has earned an official chronometer certificate from the Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronomtres (COSC), as confirmed by the chronometer inscription on the dial. The Magnate measures 40mm in diameter and 14.85mm thick. Ball claims shock resistance to 5000 Gs and anti-magnetic resistance to 4,800A/m.The twin sub-dials indicate continuous seconds at 3 o'clock and a 45 minutes counter at 9 o'clock which is used in conjunction with the chronograph center seconds. The stainless steel case h
In-Depth: Introducing The Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic 1958 (Live Photos, Full Specs, Official Pricing
I get a lot of joy out of writing about new releases, but only those that I think are really well done. Frankly, it’s not often I can say that a brand new watch is offering you ( / me / us) a whole lot, but today, with this new Jaeger-LeCoultre, I can it say it and mean it. You’re looking at the new JLC Geophysic 1958 family. This 38.5mm watch will be available in stainless steel, rose gold, and platinum (all in limited numbers), features a heaping dose of vintage inspiration, and offers a lot of technology we want in a cutting edge piece of modern horology. Allow me to go into great detail on this one, because I think it’s worth it. The History of the (Original) JLC Geophysic 2 OF 42 Originally created back in 1958, the Geophysic celebrated two distinct events. The first was the 125th anniversary of the manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre and the second was the world’s first "International Geophysical Year." This was an effort put forth
Flip ROC for 15202?
Hey guys, I recently bought a black dial ROC which I love. But the more I see the 15202, the more I like it. Would you flip the ROC for the Jumbo? I know it's a personal decision but would like opinions. I'm out of watch budget at the moment, so I'd have to flip the ROC and an Explorer II 42mm. What do you think? Yay or nay?
