AP - Why all the Marketing Gimmicks ?
Many people would consider AP and Patek to be the top watch manufactures. Why does AP do so much limited editions and link with Athletes and events. Why can't they just let their watch stand by itself like Patek or Vacheron. APs are amazing watches and I fell all of the hype marketing lessens the brand.The other day I saw an interview with Theiry Stern and he said, we just want to make great watches with no gimmicks. It is true the Patek markets its company name, but it does not try to make each watch as a fashion or hyped out piece. AP seems more and more like Hublot to me these days. I am not referring to the style of the watch, but how they market themselves to brands such as Ferrari, Grand Prix, Swiss sailing team, athletes, etc.I don't want an athletes name on the back of my watch. I think it is clear why we don't see Royal oaks and Royal oak offshores selling at auction houses for increased prices. UK Service cost
My Seamaster GMT has stopped working (hour hand will not go past the 11 o'clock pm position) must be something to do with the date.An omega stockist has quoted ?450 for a service by Omega (swatch group).Does this sound right? Two and a half years ago I sent it off and it cost about ?280!

What is a good price for BNIB 5205R-010 from an AD?
As stated above, the best I have been able to find so far is $38,500, I think the list price is $49,000.Also, anyone know if it comes with a deployment clasp and if not, how much does it cost in RG?Thank you.

Sell 16710 on jubilee for new SS Pepsi C?
I have and love my circa 2004 16710... have all black and Pepsi bezels, oyster and jubilee bracelets. That's a tough package to beat, but wondering what fellow 16710 owners are thinking of the new SS Pepsi C?? Would anybody make the trade for the new model... I think I'll hold tight... love the 16710, think it's an all time classic, but would love to hear feedback from others. If I didn't already have my set-up, I'd be very interested in the new model...-Dan

Rolex Warranty Card
Very quick question regarding Rolex's warranty policy. I have a GMT Master II from 2016 and I just noticed something that might concern the voidance of Rolex's warranty.While the date of purchase is written in ultra fine point black pen, the name of purchaser is written in thick sharpie(looks like it was written with a white board marker). As a result, one might think that the name of purchaser was not filled together with the date at the time of purchase. Would this cause RSC to deny warranty claims for my watch in case I need to present my warranty card for service?Or would RSC not pay attention to such trivial detail as long as the warranty card is active?
