IT'S OFFICIAL: Jean-Frdric Dufour Named CEO Of Rolex SA
This morning, rumors started flying that Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Zenith, will be taking the reins as global CEO of Rolex. Well, we confirmed the rumors with Rolex's Geneva office and they're entirely true! Dufour arrived at Zenith in 2009 after working at Blancpain, Chopard, Ulysse Nardin, and a few other brands, and he is largely responsible for the direction in which Zenith has moved over the last half-decade. He will be the sixth CEO of Rolex (the fourth since 2008) and we are excited to see his impact on The Crown. This is the second huge move among top watch industry executives in as many months, with Jean-Claude Biver having been named head of watchmaking at LVMH effective March 1. Though terms and an official date are forthcoming, Dufour will replace current Rolex CEO Gian Riccardo Marini, who has served since 2011 after acting as director of Rolex Italy. Dufour is friends with and a former colleague of Tudor CEO Philippe Peverelli. We spoke with Dufour
5712 in stainless or white gold??
Hey guys,New to the forum. I'll post an introduction and pics soon. I've searched and read a number of old threads, but wanted some fresh and straight opinions on 5172 in stainless vs white gold.I have a Rolex Yachtmaster ss/platinum and a 5196r already. I love Patek so much that I wanted more of a daily driver from the brand. I love the complications of the 5712 and also the 240 movement with the 22k micro rotor. I'm on the wait list for the SS, but I have the immediate opportunity to buy the white gold version. As you know, wait list is (as I was told) is at least 18 months (from the PP salon in London). The SS seems to be the most sought after. Is it the more desirable piece, or is it due to price? I can always buy the 5712g now and trade out of it when my SS arrives. I have held both pieces next to each other as I also wanted to compare dial color and weight of each. The white gold has a nice heft to it.My conundrum is; I like the discreet, yet special nature of having a
Crime against Horology!
HelloI would like to know your opinion on this particular watch.I would like to buy it but not sure if it's genuine. It is a Patek Philippe in SS with movement signed Patek Philippe & Co, 17 Jewels. The movement looks old and similar to others from the 50's (like Venus, Omega, etc.) but i never saw before this movement. One other annoying thing is the movement regulator ring. Can anyone help me on this matter ?Is this genuine PP ?Thank you!Pictures here
Some Eye Candy for Patek Lovers!!!
The Dad of one of my best friends passed away earlier this year. He was an avid watch collector and left a few nice pieces behind. Here are some nice shots that my friend allowed to take at the bank for our viewing pleasure. A JLC Perpetual Calendar sneaked in the last picture.Enjoy!!!
