HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 165: The 1% Debate
If you are interested in my new book The World's Most Expensive Watches, John and I discuss it after I am pleasantly surprised with his reaction. Patek Philippe releases their most complicated watch to date with the Grandmaster Chime 5175 and we discuss its high and low points. We also compare the feelings people have toward Patek Philippe versus Hublot and enter an interesting discussion of comparing and contrasting.Listen to the HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 165 here. Inside The Manufacture: With Jaeger-LeCoultre In Switzerland, Pt. 1: The Very First Tourbillons Of J
The tourbillon hasn't exactly become ubiquitous, but there's an argument to be made that it may be, just a bit, a victim of its own success. To put it more exactly, the tourbillon may be a victim of the success of modern precision manufacturing methods, which have made it possible to produce tourbillon wristwatches that can be priced almost unbelievably inexpensively, relative to the prices the complication used to command. However, if there is one almost universally valid truism in mechanical horology nowadays, it's that it's not so much what you do as how you do it, and how Jaeger-LeCoultre did tourbillons – and continues to do them – is a microcosm of the evolution of the tourbillon, and the hopes we might have for its future. ROC Comparison 39mm x 41mm
Hi,Noob to this forum. Does anyone have a side by side picture of the ROC 39mm and 41mm? Tried searching for it but to no avail. Would like to see how they compare size-wise. Thank you very much in advance.
Good sources for vintage Omega?
I'm on the lookout for a late 50's to early 60's Constellation Pie-Pan. Ideally a gold cap or solid with the broad arrow markers.I am absolutely smitten by this watch but it seems hard to find in decent shape. Anyone have any pointers to good places to look?
Opinion: looking for SS Daytona offered TT
I have been looking for a SS Daytona but the only offers I have, is to go on a long waiting list. An AD who have dealt with in the past has offered me a choice of two TT Daytona. One with the black face with gold secondary dials and the other with a gold dial with black secondary dials. I am far from knowledgeable on watches. My question is, would a TT on the resale market be worth at least the same as the SS?
