My numbered FOIS is no more!
It is now a FSIS (First Speedmaster in Space), #1/1, a Sigma 7 commemorative. Some of you recall my project about 10 years ago to build a Speedmaster like the one worn by Wally Schirra on his October 3, 1962 Mercury flight. Circumstances did not permit completion of the project but I kept the case back I had fabricated at the time:It sat in a drawer awaiting a final polish if an opportunity ever arose to use it. When Omega introduced the FOIS at Basel, I suspected the opportunity just might happen. On the day of introduction, I called Jim at Continental and placed my order.I must admit that the OEM FOIS case back was a disappointment, my only disappointment with Omega's effort. I patiently waited as long as I could (didn't want to risk my warranty) but I recently took the ∑7 to my local watchmaker (Gary at Wilson Watch Company) for him to do the final polishing. So without further ado:What do you think?

What do you think of this Pam00164
So I have made an exchange with a friend for this .OP6763 Pam 00164 limited edition. I must say I never thought I would like a Panerai, never wore one but saw many videos about it and I was not much impressed. As soon as I put it on my wrist I had the same feelings of Lord of the rings (precious ring) lol. It's not as heavy or big as I thought it's, even it's 44mm but it felt great. And I felt in live instantly. When I had the exchange in mind I was thinking of a flip, I did the exchange with Ulysse Nardin blue wave limited edition..but when I had it on my wrist, I said this one will stay.. at least for a while.
Hypothetically..
That's it, you're done. You've gotta sell off the collection and consolidate down to one watch. Any watch will do, doesn't have to be Rolex; but this is it, you have to wear this watch for the rest of your life. What do you fellow watch fanatics land on?I land on my GMT. I love the multi time zone function, the depth rating, the comfort and styling. Ticks a lot of boxes for me. It was close though, I really love subs/seadwellers and I wouldn't be particularly disappointed with a 116600, or a 116613.D0425015-712E-43D5-A321-9A25167E18F2.jpeg
Yacht-Master -- Is the bezel rotation supposed to smooth?
Hi!New to the board. It's a trove of information, and certainly helped me learn quite a bit. I purchased a used YM and it arrived today. One thing I noticed is the bezel rotation is quite smooth. Certainly smoother than my submariner. My sub's bezel rotation is tighter and the notches, or individual clicks, are much more pronounced. Is this a normal characteristic of the YM? It is a M-series, so '07/'08... if that matters. Thanks in advance!Andrew
