TAG Heuer to Increase Movement-Manufacturing at New Site in Jura
TAG Heuer has announced that it is doubling its mechanical-chronograph movement manufacturing capacity by building a new site in Chevenez, in the Swiss Canton of Jura, which will create 100 jobs and be operational by the end of 2013. The site will produce the in-house Caliber 1887 mechanical chronograph that was launched two years ago, plus a brand-new caliber that TAG Heuer is developing. Currently, all of TAG Heuer’s in-house movements are made by the company at its facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds and at Cortech in Cornol. TAG Heuer also buys Swiss mechanical movements from Sellita, ETA, Dubois-Depraz, Soprod and Zenith. The company cited the reduction in supply announced by ETA supported by the Swiss Competition Committee COMCO, through its provisional measures and the additional volumes needed to meet its growth targets as reasons for manufacturing more mechanical movements in-house. Ap nyc/apsc
I just wanted to do a quick post about my recent experience with AP in light of all the hand wringing about accuracy and movement issues. I sent in my RO for the 3 year warranty and to have them check the movement as it was running fast. Dropped it off on 7/28 and received the call today 8/15 that it is back and ready to be picked up. So three weeks max, including shipping both ways. Could not ask for more -- AP service is by far the best of all the brands I have dealt with. So, yes, my APs tend to run fast but if there is ever an issue AP fixes it no questions asked, and they do it pronto. This is why my next watch will be another AP. So if you like APs but the horror stories of movement issues are holding you back, buy what you like, enjoy it and stop worrying about 10 seconds here and there. Slow down, enjoy the watch and rest assured it will be fixed should anything go wrong.
Montbrillant 01
Hi all,I am interested in buying a montbrillant. Important to me that it has the new 01 in house movement. Given the hit taken on buying new from AD I wondered if anyone had any recommendations as to where to source, I am happy with pre owned, as long as in good condition, with papers. Also, am I correct in thinking it came with the 01 from 2011 onwards? Thanks, Pete
How hard is it to get a BLNR?
I haven't been on here in a while and checked the prices in the trusted sellers area and BLNR are going for more than retail. If I can get it cheaper from the local AD, I'll do that, but how long is the wait?
Precious metal rolex
Happy new year everyone! I'm in the market for PM Rolex as I do not have one but have just about every other one I can Think of . I have it narrowed down between a BLRO and a sub Smurf. I already have a subc and hulk and also have a BLNR. Do both hold their value about the same? I'm leaning towards the Smurf . Input and opinions would be appreciated : Cheers!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
