IT'S OFFICIAL: Jean-Fr��d��ric Dufour Named CEO Of Rolex SA
This morning, rumors started flying that Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Zenith, will be taking the reins as global CEO of Rolex. Well, we confirmed the rumors with Rolex's Geneva office and they're entirely true! Dufour arrived at Zenith in 2009 after working at Blancpain, Chopard, Ulysse Nardin, and a few other brands, and he is largely responsible for the direction in which Zenith has moved over the last half-decade. He will be the sixth CEO of Rolex (the fourth since 2008) and we are excited to see his impact on The Crown.This is the second huge move among top watch industry executives in as many months, with Jean-Claude Biver having been named head of watchmaking at LVMH effective March 1. Though terms and an official date are forthcoming, Dufour will replace current Rolex CEO Gian Riccardo Marini, who has served since 2011 after acting as director of Rolex Italy. First Patek - 5726A 5712A or 5711
Need advice from Patek aficionados:So I am in the market for two new watches. Flipping some useless Jewelry into exemplary horological pieces. Currently my budget allows:The first watch is the AP 26320ST blue dialThe second watch will most likely be a Patek. I am debating between the 5726A or the 5712A blue dial. I also like the 5711 well for its simplicity. A little information about myself, I am 6'2, 220lbs, Asian who work as an investor/entrepreneur/community organiser. I love the huge magnification on the 1680 red Submariner. I mean I really love it. I'm wondering how others might feel about having that huge magnification on their watches? Remember... Interesting watch dial color variation
I visited OC Tanner yesterday in Salt Lake City prior to attending the G3 concert downtown. Like other ADs, they had few sports models, however, I noticed the Explorer I they had in the display case had a very light black, almost gray dial. When I compared it to the Sub on my wrist, it did indeed look almost gray. I apologize that I didn't take any photos for comparison, but has anyone else noticed distinct color variations in black dials?
