Pellikaan Timing Hendrik Lorentz Watch
When it comes to watches drawing inspiration from gauges and instrumentation, you definitely have some choice. Most of these take the form of aviation watches (as the cockpit dials are a popular thing to mimic), but we have seen inspiration coming from some more grounded dials as well. Among these, the Pellikaan Timing Hendrik Lorentz, mimics the look of scientific instrumentation of years gone past. For starters, the matte black hands and indices contrast sharply with the pearled silver dial, which makes for a crisp, understated, and extremely legible dial, protected by the sapphire crystal at the front. And speaking of the indices, take a closer look at the dial: there are actually three tracks, one for each hand of the watch. This is something that stems from the "local time" formula of?Hendrik Lorentz. Now, if you are like me, you probably have not heard of Lorentz: he was a theoretical physicist in the late 1800s to early 1900s, and he created a series of works which were the basis
One Year After The Death of Gerald Genta, We Learn More About Him Than Ever Before
One year ago today, the world of horology lost its greatest designer - Gerald Genta.? Responsible for more iconic designs than any other man in the history of timepieces, his trademark aesthetics are ingrained in countless watches we see, and speak of every single day.In an incredibly detailed and revealing interview just published via Greek watch blog VeryImportantWatches, Mr. Genta opens up about his earliest days - when he was getting paid 15 CHF to sell designs to American brands and Swiss suppliers - to how he designed the Royal Oak in a single night.? He mentions many of his less well-known work, like that of his Cellini for Rolex, a limited edition Seiko, oh, and a digital watch for Timex that was made in a very limited run of just 30,000,000 watches.? The article is not available online, so you must download a PDF.? This is an article you need to read if you have an interest in 20th century watches, design, or Genta himself.? White Side
I very much want to defend Omega. I LOVE the two that I've got. But I just can't understand the thought process behind this watch. I just can't imagine it's going to have a large appeal. And this is going to be a watch that is produced in large numbers. Too big for a lady, and I can't imagine many dudes wearing an all white ceramic watch. To be honest, I kind of like the 4 new DSOTM black watches. I can see how they will sell. I can't see the white one having much appeal.

How do the Grey Sellers get inventory?
TRF,How can the grey sellers who post on the classified forum keep their stock constantly refurbished? A couple of them have websites and it seems like they have 3-5x more watches that my local AD!I just don't get it. I have called around looking for a couple hard to find SS models and all I get is the 1-2 year wait song and dance. Should I just give in to the Grey side and pay them their premium??The best,NB
