Zenith Academy Minute Repeater Chronograph Watch
The Academy collection from Zenith is back with more, introducing this new Academy El Primero Minute Repeater Chronograph. This is a very high-end and exclusive version of the Zenith Elite design family which the model lives in. This isn't the first Zenith minute repeater, but they aren't common for the brand. For the right high-end collectors, this could be a very special timepiece.Zenith is mostly known as an in-house movement maker and producer of the famous El Primero family of high beat automatic movements that operate at 5 Hertz (36,000 beats per hour). The El Primero is a base for most of their chronographs and is also the base for a chronograph with a minute repeater in this very uncommon Caliber 4043 El Primero movement that I recall from a rare model back in 2009. The 4043 caliber is back in a much more attractive piece that gives new life to the movement and theme. What I like about the 461 part caliber 4043 movement is its practicality and beauty. It is also a fully integrat
The Aviator Watch Stripped: Archimede Pilot H Is A Likeable Bare Bones Genre Exemplar
While there are a lot of "pilot" watches out there, this one particular design is something that everyone can agree on as being a "pilot" watch. It is one of the 'original' looks, and has fared very well over the years. Many (I mean many) companies have attempted to provide their own interpretation to the design, or additions to the look. Few have been able to improve on the look, and the countless iterations of the theme have remained constant. The benefits of this look is simplicity and legibility, which translates well on a petite watch, or a 55mm beast.Archimede has been making pilot watches of this ilk for a while. The various models skewing the look in various manners, but now with the Pilot H, they have taken things back to the drawing board. The result is something totally stripped down; bearing what is arguably the essence of the genre. You have a brandless dial, with blued hands, and a sober black and white color scheme. Instead of the "historical" manual wound movement, I am
Nesbit's Service
I had Nesbit's service my Omega Seamaster 120m Chronometer and they did a fine job. Watch came back looking and running great. I was wondering if someone could explain the results and statistics test they included. This is the first time seeing results and was hoping someone could explain it to me. I attached a photo of the result.

Buying under the influence...
I was first on the list at my AD for the new Sea Dweller. I passed on the chance to buy it when I learned it was 43mm. I told them to call me the next time they received one. I got the call earlier today. I passed again. By the way, I can buy the watch new from the AD with a slight discount and no tax.I already own a dozen or more Rolex watches and a bundle of others. Why should I buy a watch that I find way too large and heavy...? Just because I can and not everyone can...? Or maybe I ought buy it because it is supposed to be so sought after ...? Is the all important deal maker the small print in red...? Or maybe because it'll be cool to post a picture here and get positive reinforcement...? After all, how many watches can a man wear...? As a matter of fact, what I like about Rolex watches over just about all others is that a Rolex is dependable and durable like no other. So one watch is enough and will last you just about forever. Isn't there something slightly pathol
