Porsche Sells Eterna to International Volant Limited of China
Today, International Volant Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Haidian, announced that it has acquired all shares in Eterna AG Uhrenfabrik from F.A. Porsche Beteiligungen GmbH. Eterna was founded (under a different name) in 1856, In 1932, Eterna created a subsidiary called ETA to make movements for itself and other watch companies. ETA grew through a series of mergers, and today it is owned by Swatch Group. Eterna was sold several times beginning in 1982, and in 1995 it was purchased by F.A. Porsche Beteiligungen GmbH. In 1998 Eterna began manufacturing watches under the Porsche Design name.Oliver Porsche, managing director of F.A. Porsche Beteiligungen GmbH, says that he is very confident that the new owner will continue the determined path Eterna AG has begun to follow and will further strengthen Eterna AG's position as one of the premium manufacturers of watches.Mr. Hon Kwok Lung, chairman of the buyer, said that this acquisition is an important step in the strategy of Chin
Canvas Poster Is Another Reason To Attend Bulova Watches Event In Los Angeles On November 20th 2014
There is still space available for the large Bulova watches event at Feldmar Watch Company in Los Angeles on Thursday November 20, 2014. If you needed another reason to RSVP in addition to the party with lots of watch lovers, drinks, and foodwe asked Bulova to do something special for guests - a limited production high-quality poster on canvas as a gift, while supplies last. The above image is from an original 1960s Accutron by Bulova advertisement, which in our opinion, tells of a time when watches were sold the right way. This ad was likely the inspiration for the inclusion of Bulova Accutron as a story device in the final season of the television show MAD MEN. This graphic will be reproduced on a large canvas poster as a gift for attendees of the Bulova event that is, once again, on November 20th in Los Angeles at Feldmar Watch Company (9000 West Pico Blvd. LA, CA 90035). Please RSVP to: RSVP@watches-dealerwatches-dealer.
5056P thoughts?
I've been looking a lot at annual calendars lately and have always said that if I ever get a complicated Patek it would be the 5146G. I had a chance to try on a pre-owned 5056P last week and have been doing some research to compare the two. There is not much information on the web, so if anyone has any experience or information that can help with my knowledge of this reference, I would greatly appreciate if you could let me know. Thanks,Eric
New Basel Release! A Rolex dedicate to Jocke!
Congratulations my best Swedish friend!
Two hour flight for my rolex
So my local AD has me on a ~3 month wait-list for my watch, while a more distance AD seems to suggest that I can get one within the month. Although I would have to hop on a plane for 2 hours (4 hours round trip) to pick up said watch. Tax savings and/or perceived (read assumed) discount will more then cover the cost of a ticket. Of course I am not hoping on a plane until the distance AD text me a picture of my watch. Is there any downside from getting a watch from AD that won't be readily accessible going forward? Would potentially make a day trip out of this when/if availability raises.
