Panerai Regatta Winner Awarded Timepiece
Officine Panerai kicked off its title sponsorship of the 2011 Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge in North America on August 12 with the Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta at Marblehead, Massachusetts. The race attracted 65 classic and vintage boats. On Saturday night, the captains and crews enjoyed an elegant dinner with honored guest and speaker, the legendary yachtsman Ted Hood. Hood enthralled the crowd with his tales of the early days and his most memorable races, including his design and skippering of Courageous and its famous America's Cup win in 1974.The event culminated on Sunday evening with the Awards Party at the Corinthian Yacht Club where the 68' winning yacht Black Watch, co-owned and skippered by Trevor Fetter of Dallas, was awarded the overall prize: a Radiomir 8 Days GMT (PAM169), as well as a Panerai Barometer for placing first in its vintage class. In addition to Black Watch, the competition showcased an impressive range of beautiful vintage, classic and yachts C from the

best place to purchase 5711?
hey guys, newbie here. been lurking for a bit and finally made up my mind to get the 5711 blue dial nautilus. my only question now is whether there is a reliable/trustworthy online retailer i can purchase from? i am sort of in the middle of nowhere in upstate new york, and the closest AD is probably in new york city... i'd prefer to purchase online though because 1, i'm sort of lazy to get into the city and 2, i don't particularly care for having a NEED to have a manufacturers warranty as long as the gray market provider gives some sort of warranty and i get the original box and papers. (i plan to keep this watch for at least 10 years if not longer). i also hope to probably avoid some tax if i get it online which, 8% of $27k is a not a small sum to save.thanks a lot and appreciate any advice you guys can offer.edit: and what would be a fair price to pay?

New addiction
I've been looking at Panerai for some years, and love the way it is subtle and simple, yet elegant. Never had chance to pull a trigger on for about 2 years, finally saw DavidSW had one for sale 2 weeks ago and i couldn't pass on the deal.it's a Pam 50 and i went ahead to order the rubber strap and buckle from the boutique and keep the stainless strap in the case since all my other watches are in SS band, i like the rubber strap being more causal and sporty.here are 2 pictures i took... haven't pick up my SLR for quite sometime and i guess these will be my warm up shots again for the photo season.. enjoy! Thanks DavidSW!
